The product gently exfoliated my face and the back of my hands. My face is smoother and the age spots on the back of my hands are greatly diminished.

I’ve used Perfect Image Peels for a few years. My first purchase was a package of sample size peels. The Lactic Acid 30% worked great for me, so I purchased the full size. Start slowly and be patient. Go light and rinse off after 30-60 seconds the first time to see how your skin will react. And, know you may not know how it reacts until the next day. For me 30% Lactic Acid is gentle enough to use every week or so if I go light and rinse off after 2 minutes or so. It’s also strong enough to layer and leave on longer if I want a deeper peel. A deeper peel that does result in visible peeling and flaking. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. I use cold water with baking soda mixed in to help neutralize the peel.

I had previously reviewed this product for use on the face. I cannot use this on my face and I’m guessing it’s because of the peppermint in it. I use stronger than 30% glycolic acid regularly on my face with very little discomfort, so I wasn’t expecting this to have such a burning sensation. I still don’t know what the purpose of including peppermint in this lactic acid, but I don’t use it on my face anymore, so it’s a non-issue. What I do use this for is my feet and legs, along with (usually) a urea cream. I do not feel the burning sensation on my feet and legs that I felt on my face with this. What I can say is that the combination of urea and lactic acid have been fantastic for my feet. The callouses melt away. . Lactic acid is also really good for nails, so I’ve been using a bit of this at night with Very Emollient lotion, rubbing into my cuticle, and I think it helps. The real magic is on my feet and legs, though. So soft, no more KP bumps on my legs, callouses and dry cracked skin on my feet are no longer a problem at all with this + urea cream. I’ll keep ordering this just for my feet and legs. Lactic acid is a great humectant (as is urea) and it makes my skin very very soft. I just don’t use this on my face.,

I did not see any improvements on my face other than I am now stuck with huge dry, flaky patches on my nose, around my mouth area, and chin. Thanks a lot. Just like the other reviewer, I've also applied three layers and did not see any changes. Maybe it's not that effective for people with darker skin tones. I will no longer be using any of these products nor will I recommend them to anyone with blemishes, acne, whiteheads, and clogged/open pores.

The serum was not too harsh for my teenager's skin. We do the peel once a week and it has helped with her acne.
