Bought it for the dice and the dice I got... and like.
The mat it came with as a new reading method is a great idea but lacks correct implementation. I don't know if it is ill-translated as one of the spces reads: The Present: That which you are leaving behind.... say whaaat? In any case, it needs a revision. It's a product from 2002 and I don't think they've ever looked at it again. The idea for the dice is genius. I don't know how I didn't think of it myself. I'm sure somebody thought of this 50 years ago but nobody brought it forth in a product to sell until at least 2002 on this one.I like the convenience it brings of carrying a small bag of dice instead of a deck of cards, which is more delicate when moving. You can use this just as the cards but with dice instead. The packaging is flimsy. It comes with the tube to shake the dice, the mat (with some important discrepancies there) and a black and white booklet guide about the symbols corresponding to the Rider-Waite Tarot deck in the dice with upright and reverse meanings. Also, lacking in depth, but the dice are prime and the symbols accurate!Dice are very sturdy plastic-made 1 cubic inch each. Comes with 13, as 13 X 6 = 78 the number of a complete Tarot Deck of cards.I don't recommend this for beginners. It is not well-thought out and it has these errors which make it confusing, even if just for fun and games, they need to correct this, that's why I only put 4 starts on giftable. The 4 stars are if you are giving this to an experience Tarot reader. The presentation is not great but works. I just put the mat back into the tube to make the tube last a little longer, but the tube is cheap, it had one of its sides taped and the other loose. It came upside down on the artwork, which I just flipped to its upright position. The artwork I got is nowhere near as colorful as you see in the picture of the product here, but to me that's not really important. The accuracy gets 5-stars. The dice, which are the main thing about The Tarot, work and are accurate. The artwork can be arguable, but I think it works fantastic. For beginners if you are going to get this, get a regular Rider-Waite tarot deck with it for you to familiarize yourself with the symbolism or just look up a regular Rider-Waite Tarot deck online for the same purpose. You won't get numerology on the Major Arcana with this deck, it assumes you know it as no numbers are present. You must also know the 4 court symbos of King, Queen, Knight and Page to recognize some of these dice.

I can see a great dice purchase in your future!
Full disclosure:I am NOT a believer in tarot, astrology, or any other soothsayer claptrap :) I bought these dice because I love & collect dice so my review is purely from that aspect. These dice are superb! The detail is clear and the engraving is nice & deep. Did I mention they are HUGE? I have fairly large hands and I can't really roll more than 4 of them at a time by hand. They are also a bright white, not a dingy off-white that some dice turn out to be. The tube container they come in is handy. Not the strongest but convenient. Also comes with a placement mat for use during a tarot reading I assume. I use it to display the dice on. Overall a great purchase!

Cool idea - I love adding to my collection!
Just received these today, so I haven't used them for a reading yet. BUT I will said these are great quality, I'm very impressed (enough to write a review)!! They are heavy, the etchings are clear and deep, for heavy use, and they are easy to read. Although, I do wish the pips had numbers so I'm not counting "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8... yes 8 of swords."All of the Majors are easy, I like the symbols used for cards like chariot, strength, handed man, etc. I will say that these are more helpful if you 'know' the symbols and thereby 'know' the standard deck (RWS Deck or Marseille) first.

A surprising benifit, for this reader!
Great product.I'm a reader & bought this as a gift for myself...mostly just because I was curious!I've only done a few readings with the dice, thus far, and they were all actually very accurate(ie I chose a question I had just done a card reading on & the same messages came through, albeit with a few different "cards" in the dice....but, overall, the dice produced the same take home messages as my favorite decks)I am by no means a "tarot expert", so, perhaps, more skilled tarot readers might provide a more in depth review as to accuracy of meanings in the LWB etc... some seem different from the messages I typically receive from specific cards. But, again, I am by no means a tarot expert!!Even tjougj i am a reader who often uses tarot in the readings i give, I would call my skill/gift "psycic-intuitive mediumship" (as opposed to "tarot reading")Tarot cards are only one of a handful of divination tools that I use & I don't always "read tarot" in a traditional manner (ie what I see might be vastly different from the typical meanings in a card, but, even so, the "unusual" message I give, that might even contradict typical meanings, will still be confirmed as accurate by the person I read for. If that makes sense, lol)And, while this difference between being a "tarot reader" and a "psycic-intuative medium, who reads tarot" may not seem important to many potential customers, I do think it relevant to other readers considering purchase:)This is because, as accurate as my initial readings with the dice have been (and as accurate as the dice may reveal themselves to be, in time) I still do NOT believe I will use them when providing readings to other people.Simply, because my psychic-intuative mediumship abilities are mainly triggered by various image details in cards, the numbers on the cards and even the words used for each card. Those are the things my "spiritual team" uses, when I'm reading cards, to send the "clair" messages to me.The dice don't provide nearly as much "raw material" for my particular skill-set/gifts to draw from(if that makes sense!! And it probably doesn't to anyone without a similar set of skills/gifts, LOL!!)That being said?I DO belive that they are a great product & I will continue to assess their overall accuracy( by doing a duplicate dice reading, after a particularily accurate card reading, and looking for any parallel messages)If they continue to provide accurate messages?I think these dice will be a FANTASTIC tool for doing readings for MYSELF.The flexibility of interpretation, when it comes to images/words/numerology in tarot cards is adventageous, in many respects.....but?.... it also creates an opportunity for self-delusion, when reading for oneself!Particularly when emotionally invested in the reading.... which is usually the case, if one feels the need to read for oneself! (ie seeing what you WANT to see in the cards, as opposed to tuning into the ACTUAL messages that are trying to come through from Spirit/Angels/Ancestors/Guides/God etc, or whomever one primarily connects with)For readers, like myself, I think the dice will, most lilely, remove much of the potentential for "flexibility" in the messages provided by each "card".This, for me, seems like a HUGE benifit of using the dice to preform a reading on oneself! And, one that did not even occur to me, when I was considering purchace, either!(But, at the same time, I do feel, personally, that this same "self-read" benifit would be overly restrictive and reduce the number of messages that can come through when I'm reading for others)Overall, I think the product itself is great:)And, while much of the above will not matter to many potential customers, I still wanted to share my experince (so far)doing dice readings, as a reader. I just think other readers may find it useful information :)Overall? The dice & mat are sturdy/well made, and, so far, they seem to provide readings just as accurate as my favorite decks. If on the fence about the product?I would certainly recommend it--especially, given the reasonable price of the dice.I'm glad I took a chance & look forward to working with the dice, further.....more will be revealed, I suppose:)FYI(I only gave the product 4 stars, instead of five, simply because I'm still assessing the accuracy of the messages that come through--otherwise I could easily give it 5 stars.....the dice are fun to use, well made &a good "bang for your buck" product...and seem comparable in accuracy to my my favorite decks. Thus far, at least!)
