Peace of Mind for My new Ride
The Sportneer 5-Digit Combination Bike Chain Lock is a reliable and convenient security solution for bikes and more. It offers high security with a keyless design and robust construction, making it a great choice for daily use.I have only been testing for a few weeks so these are just my initial thoughts, don't expect this review to be years of usage, I would need a time machine!Pros:High security with 5-digit combinationRobust construction with manganese steel and zinc alloy,Scratch-resistant cover and dustproof cap,Easy to reset code combination with Smooth combination dials,Flexible and easy to maneuver.Cons:Plastic enclosure feels of slightly lesser quality (though it doesn't seem to affect performance)Size:I bought the 4 ft version, and I think itโs ideal for my needs, but itโs not long enough if I want to lock the frame, wheel, and a pole or post, for example. After having my previous bike stolen (RIP, old friend), I was determined to find a lock that would truly deter thieves. The Sportneer's 5-digit combination and heavy-duty chain gave me the confidence I needed to park my ebike around town. Now, I double-lock at night but only use the Sportneer chain during the day at work. The Sportneer 5-Digit Combination Bike Chain Lock is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable and convenient way to secure their bike or other valuables. The keyless design is a huge plus, as I no longer have to worry about carrying around a key or forgetting it at home. The 5-digit combination offers a high level of security, and I appreciate the peace of mind it provides, especially after my previous bike was stolen. The chain itself is made from sturdy manganese steel and zinc alloy, which gives me confidence that it can withstand cutting or sawing attempts. The scratch-resistant cover is a nice touch, as it protects my bike's paint from getting scratched up. I also appreciate the dustproof cap, which keeps dirt and moisture out of the lock mechanism. Setting and resetting the combination is a breeze, and the dials turn smoothly without feeling loose. The flexibility of the chain makes it easy to wrap around various objects, and the fact that it can roll up neatly around my bike's top bar when not in use is a major convenience. My only minor concern is that the plastic enclosure feels a bit less robust than the metal components, but so far, it hasn't affected the lock's performance. I use this lock every day to secure my ebike at work, and it has met all my expectations in terms of ease of use and perceived security. I feel much safer now when parking my bike in public places. For daily use, It's a solid 5/5 from me for ease of use!

Ease of use
I find this very durable, a lawnmower was stolen out my backyard thank goodness I was able to get it back but I use this lock on my shed and havenโt had no problems since definitely recommend.

I like it,It's a good lock
I bought the shorter 2.6 ft variety,And as you can see in the picture that I uploaded of it, despite what the people in the comment section are saying it actually gives plenty of reach/access, I'm able to wrap it around most poles around my school campus so it's great for me,Ps. This is my second set, my first set ended up jamming up on me not being able to close up on me, I was able to open it but I had it dangling over my neck in the open position on my bicycle ride home, my guess is that all the rattling on each other cause the internals to break, I want to say that it's partly my fault though,**and this is how to prevent it:Which is exactly what I'm doing now,The fact is once you unlock it and you get on your bike make sure to close it in the lock position to keep the internals in gear, and then whenever you get to your destination just lock it up and everything is going to go normally,In other words don't just leave it unlocked mode for any amount of time, super simple right and just unlock it when you need it, thank you for your time,For now it's better than the first one because it's the short version like I said,Naturally it weighs less than the longer ones, So yeah thank you have a good night

Great bike lock that feels very secure!
This bike lock is super easy to use and works exactly as expected. The 5-digit combination is convenient since I donโt have to worry about carrying around a key, and the lock feels very sturdy and heavy duty. My only small complaint is that itโs almost too heavy ๐, but I guess thatโs also what makes it feel secure and durable. Iโm happy with it and feel much more comfortable leaving my bike locked up.

Was Great Until it Wasn't:-/
I bought this lock when I ordered my new bike in Feburary in 2026. I loved this lock it sat nicely on my bike while I rode to work and back. It always came undone as it should and I trusted its security. Until yesterday 9/2/2026. I was leaving work and went to unlock the chain lock it slid out a little bit and then jammed. I tried wiggling the numbers to see if that would help. I tried pushing it back together, gently trying to pull it and it didnt come loose. I was trying to protect my bike from strangers, not from myself. I ended up calling security where I work and explaining myself. They ended up coming down with bolt cutters to free my bike so I can finally go home. For the cost of this lock, it did the job and had unintended consequences.

Sturdy and Easy to Use
Bought for my son to ride his bike to school and lock it up. It was easy for him to set up the lock code and he had no problem using it on his own.

Pretty Purple Bike Lock with a Wonderful Illusion of Security
Very pretty bike lock (mine is purple). As a security nerd, I know it could not really prevent a determined adversary from stealing my bike. There are probably videos on how to crack it like a walnut all over yon Intertubes by now. But the main thing for me is that it's purple. The other main thing is that it gives me a lovely illusion of security. As an American, I really value the illusion of security, both in my personal life and in the world around me, especially things like products, drugs and foreign policy. This bike lock fits that delusional paradigmโฆ to a "T". :-)BTW, in case you like 007 movies, changing the 5-digit numeric code is quite easy to do (there's a dial you can turn so you can set your own 5-digit code). Please note: the cryptographic entropy of a 5-digit code is slightly better than a 4-digit PIN code for your ATM card (which is essentially "trivial" making most bank cards ridiculously easy to hack). Meanwhile, my bike lock has alternating colors on the five numeric dials! That's so chic! And, while that simple visual feature may seem trivial to some cynics, it actually helps me dial up my secret-squirrel code in dim light. Also, it's stripe-y, which adds pizzaz (I'd give it 5 stars if it was sparkly purple).SO... to recap: illusion of security, check. Looks really cool, check. Would someone with even the most puny bolt cutter be able to slice it off in a few heartbeats? Sure. Check. But the pretty purple synthetic wrapping on the chain adds MYSTERY about the chain hidden inside: unless a thief has a knife, s/he doesn't knowโฆ it might be forged in the core of a neutron star from a super-hard dilithium-adamantium-unobtainum-mythomnium alloy, capable of withstanding repeated blows from Mjolnir (hint: it won't, but again, did I mention? It's... PURPLE?). THe chances of me meeting Thor in person and him needing my bike are computationally infeasible, so... I got this bike lock. Because it's purple.NOTE: there's a cute hack in the manual for figuring out what the code is set to -- if the lock is already open. It's similar to some lockpicking techniques, but still accessible enough for civilians to perform, so kudos to the designers. This also tells me (again: a security pro) that this lock can be defeated pretty easily. BUT! If you're a space cadet and you regularly forget things like your passwords, then despite the cognitive dissonance here, this could be a good thing! No, really. I'm not being sarcastic. While this lock provides nearly zero actual security (from a cryptographic POV) it's (a) a very pretty purple and (b) it will keep casual thieves from riding away on your bike too easily. And when it comes down to it, that's what you get for a few bucks. Illusion and minimal liability protection. If you want better security, buy a hundred bucks worth of hardened steel chain and a lock with a biometric mechanism (specifically: buy a Doberman Pinscher, keep him a little hungry when you go out and chain the dog to your bike).Oh, and be sure to use whatever lock you buy to lock the proper parts of your bike (frame, rear wheel, etc) to something serious like a metal tube anchored in concrete. Do NOT chain a valuable bike to a street sign: talented bike thieves,m of which there are many in this wonderful world, can work together to lift a chained-up bike off them). You can also do Smart Thingsโข like slipping your quick-release front wheel off and/or popping out your battery and taking those with you.In case I didn't mention, I got mine in purple and I like it a lot.

Good quality
Purchased 2 of these as they had a 5 digit combination (instead of 4) and half the price of a major hardware retailer in Australia. Easy to fit in a backpack without the spring of the hard steel ones that don't want to uncoil.
