They are pretty hardy, and there are plenty of seeds to grow a forest multiple times. My nephew and I had a lot of fun with this item! They grow fast and big, so he was able to see the results, which kept him interested in it. I just recall after a few weeks I got busy and forgot about it and they wilted and got kind of mushy (I assume from the condensation), had I kept up with them, they may have lived longer. **Q: How to do a return on gift** A: If possible, get the gift receipt🙂 **Q: What color sand does it have** A: If I remember correct it was multi-colored. pink yellow, blue. It was a fun project. **Q: Would this fit in a stocking as a stocking stuffer gift?** A: The packaging is most likely too large for a standard size stocking. The dimensions are 7” H x 4.75” W x 4” L. The components would certainly fit or the project can of course be wrapped for under the tree. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So much fun, makes a great gift! *by A***R on 11 September 2023* I’ve purchased these multiple times. Both the unicorn and the mermaid. My daughter had SO much fun decorating this and growing the garden. We’ve bought several more as gifts! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Small little garden *by G***I on 26 December 2023* This is a great entertaining activity for kids with their mums. It’s small and not messy and other than kids having the chance to decorate their garden they also will learn responsibility as they would have to take care of their plant for it to thrive . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun, creative activity with a cute finished result *by D***R on 7 January 2026* I bought this as a gift for my daughter and it turned into a really nice activity for us to do together. She loved the mermaid theme right away, and it kept her engaged without feeling frustrating or too complicated. The size of the terrarium is just right for kids, small enough to fit on a shelf or desk but still big enough for them to feel proud of what they created. The growth area is limited, which makes it manageable and easy to care for, especially for younger kids who are just learning how to take care of plants. Everything came packaged neatly, the instructions were easy to follow with a little adult help, and the whole project felt calm and creative rather than rushed. She loved watching the plants grow and checking on them each day. Overall, it was a thoughtful gift that combined creativity, quality time, and something she could continue to enjoy afterward. ## Frequently Bought Together - Creativity for Kids Mini Garden: Mermaid Terrarium Kit - Mermaid Gifts for Girls, Crafts for Kids & Toys Ages 6-8+, Stocking Stuffers - Melissa & Doug Design-Your-Own Bracelets With 100+ Sparkle Gem and Glitter Stickers - mibasies Purse for Little Girls Dress Up Jewelry Pretend Play Kids Accessories Mermaid Gifts --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/372220616-creativity-for-kids-grow-your-own-mermaid-mini-garden-fun](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/372220616-creativity-for-kids-grow-your-own-mermaid-mini-garden-fun) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
