Need better dimensions: 17.2 x 17.2? What is the depth?

The manufacturer lists the product dimensions as 17-1/4" x 30-1/2" x 8" (438 x 775 x 203 mm).

Would this fit between 16" center wall studs? Wasn't sure if dimensions included trim piece or just trash can.
