Beautiful model, used for Viking Funeral
This Viking ship is an absolutely gorgeous model, is exactly as pictured, and comes complete with the sail and oars that move individually and sits on the base as shown. This ship in particular has an amazing history, and we purchased it for the traditional “lighting of the ship” ceremony for a Viking Memorial Service, where the ship is placed on the water and lit on fire. When placed on the water, the ship did not want to stand exactly upright, but we held it long enough to light the sail on fire (used lighter fluid and it caught on fire nicely) before the ship tipped sideways in the water thereby putting out the flame. Everyone loved it even though the ship didn’t burn ... yet this beautiful ship with the burned sail was actually so beautiful after turning on its side in the water, the deceased Viking’s daughter asked if she could keep it as a memorial to her parent who had passed away. It actually was still so beautiful, and even more meaningful with the obvious black burned areas on the red and white fabric sail. It looked like an antique relic that had been passed down for generations. Everyone at the reception commented on how beautiful the ship was even after the blackened sail. The ship still stood perfectly upright on the stand even after the lighting of the sail on fire, and the oars sat in their individual slots perfectly. We were very pleased at the beauty of this ship, and actually pleased that the entire ship did not burn.

Love it
It is awesome! My husband and I love it. It took me a few minute to figure out the hooks on the sail when it came in but it was fine. I would recommend it .

Strings broken, cheap plastic that canʻt float
Donʻt even think about it, cheap broken thing on a "stand" that canʻt be removed. I was grieving when looking for a boat to float some of my sisters ashes in after her death as a symbolic gesture for her children. This cheap thing came with an unremoveable ʻstandʻ, broken strings, cheap plastic.
