Better than you think, Worth more that the cost
I bought the 225gph model in July 2024.It's been hooked up to my 40gal breeder for almost a year now, running constantly except for maintenance.I can say with all confidence that this filter is by far the most cost-effective option on the market (so far). The UV bulb hasn't blown out, the filter media (when changed regularly) does it's job without issue.***DO NOT*** make the wrong assumption that canister filters are a maintenance-free item. You should be changing out your filter foam/filter floss every 3-6 months. You should also be cleaning out your tubing around that same interval. With correct maintenance, this unit is every bit as good as it's much more costly counterparts.Don't hesitate to add this to your cart, just don't blame the product if you don't know how to maintain a canister filter.

Low profile and robust
This filter fit the bill for a tight installation. I could not find another canister filter to fit our tank stand (height constraint) and be enclosed in the cabinet portion. It filters a 29 gallon tank well, and there is lots of space to add any media you may wish. The flow control lever broke after a year but I reached out to the seller and they sent a new lever/connection assembly free. That lever is a weak point but if you make sure not to horse around with it all will be well. It lacks some features of expensive name brand filters but for 60 bucks I think it is a really good deal.

Worthless destructive machine from hell
Purchase this filter system in November 2022.The prime pump handle disintegrated into pieces in February, just days after the return window closed. One month later March 2023, the machine is no longer producing clear water. I have a bacteria outbreak as a result of this. All new media was used in the last cleaning process, and the system was washed as directed as usual. Did not stop it from having particles and algae blooms producing from the filtration system itself. Three just assemblies and three re-assemblies and cleanings and replacement of medias. Again, I finally get it to produce clear water. as time is going on, and these repeated cleanings that had to take place, the machine is physically, wearing fast cracks are developing on the fasteners, and the prime pump is further disintegrating with the post reducing down to a nub. April 2023. I woke one morning in my bedroom to find the laminate wood flooring bubbled all the way across the floor. I immediately assumed it was a exterior underground leak from the sprinkler system outside, but I was wrong. As I entered my dining area, I noticed the fish tank was down about 3 inches in water. That’s right this piece of crap destructive machinery that wasted my $140 plus all the extra media I had to spend out for when it started to malfunction and not properly filter. The system, has now incurred the cost of replacing my bedroom flooring, not to mention the wall between the dining room, and the bedroom . The canister was leaking from the seal line all the way around the top of the canister with water coming out from the prime post area primarily. So I believe the water is leaking out of the pot, prime post down into the top of the canister where the motor is and just leaking out the sides down through the latch locks . So 4 inches of water in a 55 gallon tank that math I don’t know how to do to estimate how many gallons came out that I would I would guesstimate at least 10 to 15 gallons of water. The return window has closed in January and I am simply going to cut my losses and move onto a different brand. Amosijoy has lost my confidence as a consumer looking for a reliable product. A properly working filtration system is one thing I seek, but any further problems in my life such as thousands of dollars of floor and wall repairs is unacceptable . I will never buy another product of theirs, and I highly advise anyone seeking for filtration products to overlook this brand and to move on to other reputable sources.

Just started using. Instructions suck. Please read below for help priming.
Very quiet. Almost can't hear it. Took me 5 hours to get it to work, but this was not the fault of the product. I didn't realize I had the inlet and outlet swapped, which kept it from flowing. Once I swapped those it works flawless. For anybody who cannot get the system to prime, heres how I did it. Start with and empty canister (no water). Connect your inlet tube to canister. Go ahead and run inlet to the tank where you will have it positioned. Then connect the outlet tube to the canister, and run the tube into a bucket on the floor. Close the valves on the canister. Open the cap on the top of the inlet that you mounted on the tank. Fill the inlet tube thru that hole, until the tube is full of water. Once full, open the valves on the canister, you will hear the canister filling with water. Wait patiently as the canister fills. Water will eventually run thru the outlet tube and into the bucket. Once it runs smoothly into the bucket without blowing air out, shut the valves off again. Now mount your outlet onto the tank. Keep this above the water level. Now plug your canister filter in and watch as all your hard work pays off. I hope this helps someone as the instructions suck and the manual primer on the canister is absolute trash.

Runs well 5 months in, easy to set up and keeping water clear
almost 5 months in an running strong on a 75G riparium (apx 60 percent water filled) with 20 small fish and plants. Running strong and when my power has gone out, it has started right back up again with no fuss.
