This is a complete waste of money
It's flimsy, won't hold anything of substantial weight (I bought it for feeding a snake, it wouldn't even hold into the butt end of a dead rat that honestly wasn't that big..), and the center "unlock" button literally does nothing. It doesn't even push inward or spin or anything. The joint doesn't lock, and so when you try to grab something, the joint buckles and folds. The locking button on the handle that is supposed to lock the trigger handle at least slides back and forth, but again, doesn't actually do anything. This is a complete waste of money, I'm very angry at this purchase. I cleaned it off and gave it to my 4 year old to play with, because if he breaks it, oh well. At least it was good for something (making my Autistic child happy for a short period of time).

I have used this product about a week and in all sincerity could not and will not recommend it.It i is flimsy and of poor design. Does not seem to pick up the advertised weight of five pounds, and picking up a coin was difficult. It seems to break at the folding joint when attempting to pick up anything An adjustable sliding tube would have been much sturdier..

Works very well for small pickups
Bought this for a family member who needed to occasionally pick up small things after some serious back surgery. It works just fine. The rubber tips are thin enough to grab papers and little items that fall, or small items from a shelf. Let's be serious, if you expect something that will pick up bowling balls or gallons of milk for nine dollars then you will be disappointed. There are much more expensive reaching products that will do a lot more heavy lifting. But if you need something that will be a little helper for a bargain price then this thing works just fine.

This and a container are a must for riding mower. I use it to pick up sticks, drink cans and miscellaneous wrappers when I mow. The yard looks so much better and I am no longer tempted to run over these objects. It is also a great safety device because I no longer hop on and off the mower with the motor running. It seems flimsy but I've been careful with storing it and it's held up very well.

Broke right out of the box.
I had no idea this thing "collapsed" (didn't pay close enough attention to the photo, whatever), but the pin that keeps it locked when open was nearly broken upon removing this from the box, shortly thereafter it fell off and was lost. the gripper never stayed "open" nor had much grip, then while trying to move something laterally, left/right while gripping, the handle started to come apart in my hand, despite the object only being a few pounds. this thing is complete TRASH.

great for getting stuff off tall shelves
my neighbor gave me hers when I had hip problems and couldn't bend over. Afterwards, I gave it to someone else who needed it. Ends up my neighbor was upset, so I got a new one for her. This one was in much better shape than the used one! Not sure how long they last, but both parties say they need them to reach tall shelfs and retrieve things. Not the best thing for picking stuff up from the floor, tho.

Do NOT waste your money
This grabber is pretty worthless. It is so flimsy and tries to fold up when when "locked". Also, when folded, it just unfolds so is no use for trying to carry on a walker or other device. Am sending it back.

Works ok but not very sturdy
Works ok but pretty flimsy. No instructions, so it took a while to figure out that the "knob" in the middle locks the arm open. Oops....one side of the knob already fell off when using it the 2nd time =+( You definitely get what you pay for, & this was an inexpensive must-have item recommended by a physical therapist for post-op recovery at home.
