Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Sweet & Spicy Trail Mix, 40 Ounce

BEWARE!!!!!! This mix is addicting!!! I bought this mix when it had a coupon and I got it 9.99. And after tasting it, I would definitely pay double that for the mix!! The mix has a perfect blend of sweet and salty with only a hit on spicy!! I would have loved for the mix to be a little more spicy but as it sits it’s still delicious. Again paying 9.99 for 40 ounces ends up costing .24 cents an oz!! Not even a can of planters peanuts has this low cost. The mix is also not like others out on the market that are 90% salted peanuts to make up for cost. I’ve shared this with friends and family and they ended up loving it as much that they ordered their own same day!

I don't know why I'm writing a review for trail mix but here I am. First, there is nothing spicy about this trail mix--unless you are from like North Dakota where regular yellow mustard is unbearably spicy to you or something. I dunno. Second, this is DELICIOUS & DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE because it's so good. Seriously. There's like 1,000,000 calories per serving but it's totally worth it! If they sold the toffee covered peanuts & the sesame stick mix by itself I would totally buy that. That's really the two things I like about this trail mix. The regular peanuts & almonds are just whatever. But those toffee peanuts! Yum. Third, it's really not anything special. You can easily find similar "spicy" trail mixes at your local grocery store. I like buying this brand from Amazon because it comes in the mail.

This is a gigantic bag of trail mix and is a real bargain for the money. The mix is great, very fresh, delicious. I was looking for something a little spicier, but if you're a spicy lover, good luck finding your perfect spice level in a commercial product (most are far too mild). The one downside to this product is roughly 1/3rd of the bag is sickeningly sweet, huge nuggets of honey or sugar coated peanuts the side of small grapes. I end up picking them out because they overpower the spicy/salty mix.

This is a great product, value and price. My only objection is that I ordered the product on May 7, 2021 and it was delivered on May 8, 2021 which is good, however the Expiration on the Product was yesterday, the day that I ordered it on May 7, 2021. I gave the 'Freshness Rating' a 3 out of 5 solely for that reason. I would have given it a 4 had the product only a week or two left on its expiration date and a 5 rating for any date from 1 month or more. Maybe the product is not moving off the Shelf because Amazon does not promote the product, I have no clue, because you would be hard pressed to find any other brand that could match it. I would recommend that Amazon develop a product discount list of products nearing their expiration date, say at least 2 weeks or less. And have a 'look at me' button to click on so customers can review products and buy them before they expire. This product should not have left the Amazon warehouse on the day of or day after its expiration date.

This arrived yesterday and one third of it is gone on day two!!! I think this explains how good it is! I believe there were more toffee pieces added to this bag than in the past which is what I wanted! The mix is so spicy that your tongue burns but the flavor is delicious. More toffee pieces make it a bit sweeter and mellows your mouth so you don't have to drink as much. (I always have a glass of Crystal Light or Gatorade beside me to keep from burning up) Believe me. This is the most delicious treat I've tried!

Update: I've placed multiple orders since my first review. I had great luck with my first few orders, then it just proceeded to go downhill. The contents of three arrived a tad bit crushed...small pieces and a lot of fine crumbs. I was willing to deal with it because I enjoyed the product that much. However, the last straw was getting two damaged orders in a row (very small cuts in the lower half of the packaging which exposed the contents). I had to toss those bags. I will no longer order the snack mix because I just don't know what I'm going to get. Delicious snack mix! Love the balance of sweet and spicy. The only things to beware of is those toffee peanuts, some are as hard as rocks.

My new favorite go-to snack; equal amounts of sweet & spicy. The spicy is only moderately spicy - you won't be choking on it or running for something to drink (although it can make you thirsty). I have to put 2 oz or so up per small resealable container as I always finish the container - hard to stop! Unsure why they put the corn in the mix, adds nothing to flavors (nutritional value perhaps, or the lowest cost ingredient (filler)??). Pretty inexpensive as far as these type snacks go also.

I’m not sure what everyone’s deal is with this product? It’s spicy, sweet, salty, and crunchy. To be honest this stuff is absolutely amazing. The only drawback is that you will sit down and eat half a bag - literally it’s like “input addictive drug” good to the point that you will eat eat more than you ever should. Flavor and quality are 5 out of 5 however with such an addictive taste and experience my only concern is that this product will contribute to the obesity epidemic so know what the serving size and is and definitely know when to put the product up and stop eating. It’s very addictive!
