The only thing is the filter media. The bio-rings are plastic and the pads are not so good. But for me not a deal breaker because I most of the time change things in my filter anyway. Bought new pads that were in a bundle and foam. And I had bioballs of ceramic. Added a lot of bio-material for bacteria to grow. I wish I would have set it up sooner so I could have returned this canister filter. I am out of the return window now. It is absolute junk. The water flow through it is very low might be suitable for an 5 gallon tank. It also just randomly stops pumping water so it’s very unreliable.
