I am very much in love with this pan already
I received this piece December 30, and have already used it several times over the weekend. I am very much in love with this pan already! First, the pan is beautiful and the lid has a very contemporary look. Second, the pan is light weight, but seems to be very sturdy and appears to be well constructed. Most importantly, the food comes out of the pan so easy! Just in the last 3 days I have cooked sausage patties, fried eggs, seared meat, and sauteed veggies. The pan is light enough to comfortably flip food, and the non stick allowed the eggs to glide right out of the pan with out the use of oils. The pan heats up quick and cooks evenly. When I seared the meat, I noticed I was getting the crust on the meat and the brown bits in the pan. If I were to have deglazed, the good stuff would have been there (unlike a teflon). In this case it wiped out like a dream!! The lid that comes with the pan is also a nice part of this pan. The lip seats well and can also be used in the oven. Clean up was a breeze! I wiped out the pan and it is ready to go again! This was like my well seasoned cast iron pans, but so much more light weight! I am pretty sure I am going to love this pan!

Unbelievably Good!
We just got this Vesuvio pan a few days ago. I bought it because I was disgusted with the task of cleaning up one of our existing "nonstick" pans which one of our guests had used to make scrambled eggs, and which took me a long time to clean. I am aware that nonstick pans lose their non-stickiness over a period of time, but this was originally a really good pan, and I was really irritated. So the first thing I tried was scrambled eggs. I put a large piece of butter on one side of the pan, and, without swishing the butter around, dumped the scrambled egg mix into the pan. I got kind of concerned when the scrambled eggs slid all over the (large, flat) pan, as I put it back on the stove, since I thought that things would get very sticky without pre-application of butter or Pam. Completely to the contrary, the scrambled eggs just slid out of the pan when they were done, including from the part where they had spread over the surface which did not have any butter on it. We tried it on some other things which might be expected to leave a residue, like browning chopped asparagus, and the result was a spick-and-span pan after only a simple wipe with a paper towel. We also like the fact that the pan is really deep, and, for example, can be filled with lots of spinach leaves to be sautรฉed without the leaves overflowing. The top contributes to the benefit of this use of the pan, because it fits very nicely with its soft plastic edge and small steam hole, thus making it easy to steam things. It's also very nice that the cover is see-through glass. As others have commented, but weight of the pan is surprisingly low. Finally, I spent some time trying to figure out if the surface of the pan is actually ceramic only, or maybe includes some sort of plasticized covering that you can't see. I don't know the answer, but it does seem like it is entirely ceramic without any additional slippery covering of the type which wears out in "nonstick" pans after a year or so. Great pan, we are ordering another one for our vacation house. I only wish they had more sizes. Either way, I very rarely leave comments on things I bought, and also usually feel put upon by requests from Amazon sellers for me to comment on things I bought. In this case, I'm more than happy to say what a great product this is, and think is important to comment since this is such a new product on Amazon that one might overlook it.

Workhorse/2+ years/Beautiful
If you're looking to purchase a frying pan and are not on a budget that restricts the best, I think the quality of this 11" pan will blow you away. I'm a 65 year old bachelor who has now use this pan daily for over 2 years. Eggs, hash browns, sauces, all slide around as any teflon pan I've own. This is true 2 years later, and it looks, performs, and cleans today exactly like the day I purchased it back in June of 2016. My cautions, sure there's been times things have stuck on this pan after I've cook, but let me explain. I am a reverse sear steak guy and do at least 2 a week. For a year plus I used coconut oil and high heat to sear steaks... leaving some crust fried onto the surface. And yes it's a messy job searing a steak... then it would require me to scrub the pan pretty good with a sponge. This actually became easier to do when I switched to grapeseed oil for reverse searing, much easier. None of the above high heat cooking is recommended.... but it's what I do. This pan functions better than teflon, this pan is lighter, it is better at heat distribution, and it looks brand new, like I took it out of the box this morning. It is everything and more I expected. I have purchased a few hundred items from Amazon, but reviewed only a handful, this product deserves high praise. A beautiful pan that shames teflon.

Food simply cooks perfectly with this pan!
Love this fry pan - it's so non-stick. This is the best brand of pans I have ever bought. Nothing sticks to it and it's so easy to clean. Yes, I do use evoo when cooking many items, however, with other pans, I had to, for example, always watch to insure the foods don't overcook - not with this pan. Food cooks so evenly, it's just perfect!

Updated.... it WAS a solid frying pan - works exactly as advertised. Would buy again in a heartbeat. (not anymore)
6 Month Update - Let down. After using this pan for 6 months, I've found it to lack almost all of the non stick qualities it had when I received it. I have hand washed with soft sponge only since having this pan. Eggs now stick every time, unless I use scads of olive oil in the pan, which for me defeats the purpose of non-stick, healthier eating. For the money, I'd say not worth it. Hoping this is a defect. Will attempt to make contact with the company about their 1 year warranty. Maybe this pan is the exception. Would love to try another. ____ Original Post: Solid product. Lives up to its claims....so far. I'd like to do a 6 month/12 month check in to see how the ceramic is holding up. This has always been the biggest point of failure for all "non-stick" pans that I use. Works exactly as advertised. Easy to cook with. Non-stick ceramic is a breeze to clean. This is used almost daily for meal prep. The lid works well. I was worried a "U" shaped handle wouldn't feel sturdy - I was wrong; it's very sturdy. Silicone outer edge was a nice touch. I would love to see this in a >= 12" pan, but I was willing to make the sacrifice since it seemed like the best option out there. If I was really being picky, I would love to see a bit more metal in the bottom of the pan...to help even out temperatures and keep it from cooling down too much as I add items in to cook. I hope this company continues to make more products like this!

Very satisfied with the quality of this product
I did alot of research on nonstick pans and was not impressed by the black coated pans that have multiple reviews stating that the pans begin to flake black stuff after a while. Even though some state it is harmless, i would prefer to not injest byproduct of the pan im using. I also read a lot of complaints about uncomfortable handles, pan not coming with a lid, and the bottom warping. The Vesuvio pan from DaTerra was the one i decided to roll the dice with and have been so pleased so far. The nonstick ceramic coating works amazingly well. Very even cooking surface makes it hard to burn food. I also like that it will season over time and give your food that much better flavor. The fact that it comes with a lid is a big bonus and the handle has a comfort grip on it to prevent burns and ease of moving around the kitchen. So easy to clean too! Im not a profressional cook, but the quality build of this pan seems top notch out of Italy. Its on the pricey side, but its worth an extra 30-40 dollars for something that will give you years of use and not frustrate you in the kitchen.

Note that this is a very mixed review -started as one-star, upgraded after contacting DaTerra
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a scathing, one-star review of this pan. After a year, everything was sticking. I was wishing I had heeded the 1-star reviews and not bought it. And other buyers had no luck getting answers from DaTerra. Expecting nothing, I emailed them. I got an answer immediately - on the 4th of July, no less! Yes, I could return the pan for credit. But first, I should try to season it and see if that worked. I watched their four short videos on how to do this. It looked simple and the result was an egg that didn't stick. So I tried that. In the meantime, I had answered the email and gotten TWO more responses. Whatever their problems before, the customer service now is 5-star. Today I fried an egg to test the seasoned pan. Mixed results - the egg did stick some, but when I used a firm nylon spatula, it scraped off. I think I need to season the pan again, and continue to season it periodically in the future. I had not done that at all in the year I owned it. Result: I'm not returning the pan. I will season it frequently. I like the size, I like the rubber-sealed lid, I like the handle. I like that it is ceramic. I applaud the customer service. I'm still wary of its stick-free shortcomings, but I'm withholding judgement until I use it a little longer.

So far, great nonstick skillet for eggs
For the most part we have switched to steel pans so that we don't have to worry about nonstick coatings that come with possible environmental and/or health risks. Those are fine for most things, but eggs are the one thing that do much better with a nonstick pan. We've tried a few others and it usually doesn't take long for the nonstick to start sticking. So far this pan is doing much better than others have. We followed the instructions to season with olive oil and repeat seasoning monthly. We only use low to medium heat, allow the pan to cool completely before hand washing, and we don't put it in the dishwasher. We've only had it for a bit over a month, so the longevity of the nonstick surface remains to be seen. But, so far, it's doing much better than anything else we tried. It's also middle of the price range of other options we tried. We are using this on a glass cooktop and I was worried the bottom of the pan would scratch the stove. So far that has not been a problem at all.

Truly Non-Stick
I purchased the 24 inch pan and was so impressed that I ordered the 28 inch as well. These pans are truly NON-STICK. The person who managed to make food stick to their pan must be a magician, because it is impossible if you cook like a normal person. I have already told all my friends that these are a MUST in every kitchen.
