OtterBox Defender Series Case for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active - Retail Packaging - Gray/White

The OtterBox Defender Series Case for the Samsung Galaxy S44 Active is a great case. It fits nicely except for a slight gap at the bottom where the home, menu, and arrow keys are. I'm told that happens on most OtterBox cases due to minimal stretching when you put the case on. The only thing I'd be worried about is water getting trapped under the case/screen protector. Even though the phone is water resistant up to a certain point, if trapped water doesn't get out fast enough or doesn't evaporate it might cause problems. However, my phone in the case has survived many showers and water doesn't seem to be stuck for too long. The case fits nicely and is open where the charging cord plugs in which is great since the phone already has a flap to cover that part up. The only thing I wish was different is the cover on the headphone jack. I think I would like the cover even more if it left that open so it would be more convenient to plug headphones in. The case doesn't obstruct the camera (front and back), microphone, or speaker. The grippy-ness of the case has prevented me from dropping it on many occasions, especially while wearing gloves.As for the belt clip it comes with, it's nice. I typically only use it when I'm planning to drink so I never lose my phone! However, while clipped in, you cannot use the camera on the back of the phone, so any time you want to use it, you have to detach it from the clip. Maybe I'm just not doing it right, but I find it hard to release the phone from the belt clip. It is great when you have no pockets and you can clip it to the waistband of your yoga pants or shirt as needed.Overall, I'm happy with this case, and it even is in my favorite color (grey)! It does add a little bulk, but all good cases do. Yet you get adjusted to the new size quickly, and if you take the case off, your phone will feel naked.Hope this helps!

When I purchased my S4 Active I expected that it would handle bumps and am occasion scrape better than the regular S4. After a couple of scrapes on the glass screen (I've never scraped a screen before - always owned iPhones) I decided to put away the cheap case options and go for the tried and true. I ended up with the Otterbox Defender for the Active and I am pleased. I DO have an extra battery for my phone and changing out batteries will be a hassle, but that is one I am willing to deal with in order to gain the two layer protection that Otterbox provides.I've been using Otterboxes for the past 4 years and they have continued to evolve and listen to customer feedback. The result is a well fitting, well made product that is usable in all respects. Usability when being put on the device and usability when the device is in use. All of the buttons and the screen are responsive. The earphone flap fits nice and snug back in it's spot.Everything just fits and works. Great holster as usual and a great case at a great price (the gray / white was considerably cheaper than the straight black ... so I went for that one).The case looks nice on the Active and will provide the protection I have come to expect from Otter. I THOUGHT the Active would be a little more rugged ... but I was wrong. It may have a look that pretends to be ruggedized, but it is not. Put a case on it and it will fare better.

Don't make the same mistake I did. A Galaxy S4 Active Case will not fit on a Galaxy S4 i337. I have a 2 year old defender case that is just about worn out so when I saw this one at half what the other Otterbox cases were selling for I went it. I should have read the description better. The two phones aren't the same size. Almost most but not quite. The Menu button and back button wouldn't word on the 1337. If you look at the different colors offered by Otterbox notice the rubber outer case has several styles. That was the weak spot of the case I bought two years ago. How long should a phone case last? The rubber outer case of the old one is falling off. You can put in boiling water to tighten it, see videos on youtube and be sure to remove the phone prior to boing case. So the old case if coming apart but the phone looks brand new. I'm hard on things too. Otterbox's prices are coming down that's a good thing. I had an issue with them on another defender case that was never resolved. I bought one from Amazon for my iPod touch. There was a hole in that went to nothing. I called Amazon and they said it shouldn't be there so they overnighted me a second one. Same hole, I called Otterbox and they said the hole shouldn't be there. I sent the 2nd case back to Amazon and asked for a refund. Amazon refunded my money no questions asked. I was convienced that Amazon was selling knock offs so I ordered directly from Otterbox. That was $10 more than buying through Amazon. The case arrived from Otterbox and guess what? Same hole to nothing in the same spot. That was when Otterbox just stopped replying to my emails. Not what I would call customer service for a product that cost twice as much as the competition. I had to retract all my comments on Amazon. Amazon's customer service was excellent then and everytime I need them. It can be a challenge finding a phone number but it is 2016 and humans don't talk to humans that much anymore. This case cost lest that $15 and with prime membership free shipping. Because the mistake was mine to return it cost $8.25. Like I said. Read those descriptions really well.

Bought it for less than a hundred dollars. Everything works perfectly. A good smartphone for my daughter who mostly watches You tube on it.

Very strong protective case which makes your phone look really nice. The rubber isn't too stiff so all the buttons on the side are still easy to press and the overall fitment in your hands is just great

Great case. Bought it for my son's Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and it fits perfectly and offers superior protection for when he is out working. He is very happy with this case. All the buttons and ports are easily accessible. Highly recommended.

The case itself is fine for what it is designed for, fits the phone well and is robust enough to take a pretty good beating. All the buttons and ports work fine with the case fitted (I have not experienced the issues with the buttons at the edge of the touch screen not functioning correctly with the screen protector fitted as other users have mentioned). The case is a little bulky but not so much that it detracts from the use of the device. My only big gripe is the rubberised finish tends to stick in my pocket and can become easily covered in lint, whilst I appreciate the rubber is there to absorb shock in the event of a drop or knock, I would have preffered a smoother hard shell type finish over the rubber to prevent sticking in the pockets. Overall though its a decent case and will keep your S4 active nice and safe.

I have had trouble finding a case for this phone and now have. Its like a glove for my S4 Active.
