Great pictures and Excellent detection well beyond 50 feet
Almost gave it 4 stars because the selector switch for Aim, Custom and Quick start does not work well. I have it setup for custom settings and it is hard some times to get it in that location to start motion detection. If I keep having issues I will send it back. Also instruction are good but could be much better. Doesn't say anywhere on how to start detection under Custom settings. I guess they assume since they tell you how under Quick start that it is the same. The menu is a little tricky but once you understand it then it is a breeze. But the main reason I gave it a 5 is the quality of the pictures. They are excellent and I won't have any problem identifying what I need to identify. Additionally I have my setting where all three cameras take a picture when its sensor is triggered. I set it up to do my testing on a tree between my neighbor home and mine. Each outside camera was point at each driveway (20 ft each direction, I live in a cove) and the other straight ahead. They said that detection range is 50 ft but this camera is blowing that one away. Mail lady came into cove and circled the cove. The left camera facing my driveway and main road running through subdivision picked her up at over 90 feet, then center camera picked her up at 45 ft then again on far side of cove at over 100 feet. I thought this was a flute but I kept noticing my left camera picking up cars on main road and I swear on 5 or more occasions it took picture of cars at least 150 feet away and probably closer to 180 feet. I have not stepped it off yet but know it is over 50 yards, maybe over 60. I couldn't believe it. Now that it tested it is time for its intended use that that is to catch the crackheads that just broke into my fiance home for a second time in 2 1/2 months. Hoping the SOB's show again up because I will get pictures with this baby up in a tree secured with my master lock python lock. Then they will truly earn that name CRACK Head!

I was pleased with the 150 and 150i because they captured more ...
I have 6 game cameras that have taken over 3,000 photos of mountain lions, bobcat, fox, deer etc. in a very remote area over a period of three years. I started with the Moultrie 150 and then bought two 150i cameras. I was pleased with the 150 and 150i because they captured more photos than traditional cameras. However, the 150 and 150i have never managed a smooth transition between the cells of the panoramic photo. I get a lot of partial animals. The Covert panoramic (I have two) uses a fish eye lens so there is no fragmenting and the Covert has more pixels. I use solar panels for all the cameras. I have experienced reliability problems with the 150 and 150i which Moultrie claims is formatting, memory card that is too fast, or the wrong battery manufacturer. Maybe, but the Coverts do not have these problems. I can check on the cameras only every 2-4 weeks, so I loose a lot of photos when the camera fails. I have used the 180i for a couple of months and it has been superior to the other cameras. It takes twice the photos, the photos are clearer and, so far, I have not had any reliability problems. I rate the 180i as the best by far, then Covert followed by 150 and 150i. I gave the 180i four stars because is still has some issues with a smooth transition in panoramic photos.

Camera only worked for a weekend. I obviously used AA batteries and I also had the solar panel hooked up. Took over a thousand pictures so I thought it was good to go and left it for several weeks with the solar panel in direct sunlight. I came back and only had 3 pictures and over a 1,000 pounds of corn gone. This is very frustrating! Spend top dollar on a camera and expect it to have great pictures or at least some pictures! I'm returning both the camera and the solar panel and going with a different brand. I tested new AA batteries without the solar panel and they lasted less than a day with no pictures taken. I checked that the AC adapter was turned to off and used the quick setup mode.Update: I am now on my 3rd replacement camera. First one was sucking the batteries down like crazy. Second one had a lens issue. Third one would take a few pictures and then turn itself off even with 100% battery and the 4th one did the same. Is anyone using the solar panel on this? I'm trying to figure out why I am having so many problems. My next unit I'm going to try without the solar panel. I have a cheap $40 camera mounted next to this and it hasn't missed a beat. The pics are lower quality, but it works. Only reason I keep getting replacements is because I could not return for a refund. Moultrie customer service is great, but this model camera just isn't working for me. I've never had issues with moultrie until now.

Exceptional camera. Great for security around buildings.
Great camera, but takes a little practice to set up.Takes great clear panoramic pictures that can be zoomed in and you can get an identifiable picture of a person's face.I had to set the PIR sensitivity to low. When set to the default High, the first week it recorded over 5,000 pictures of birds landing around my pond.I tried a wireless SD card, (Toshiba 32GB FlashAir) but apparently the camera shuts off power to the card when waiting for a motion to trigger the camera. I could only connect to the card when it was taking a picture.I guess I can understand not keeping the SD wireless on constantly. This camera needs to be given a wireless ability.

Great Panaromic Camera
For $99, this 14MB camera is well worth it. Images, for the most part come out great. If the image is too close to the source, i.e. a vehicle driving by, you may see a blurred or merge image. Same with wildlife. Ensure you have enough distance, minimum 20 feet from your desired area of photography. Video were good, though I have used as much. I have a dozen Moultrie game cameras. Most worked great. Some died (due to water leakage) and were replaced withing the 2 year warranty (most withing 6 to 12 months). Other than that, pretty good. BATTERIES - Twelve (12) is a lot, but needed.

Not senior citizen friendly.
Night videos and pictures are horrible. Daytime pictures are fantastic. Nowhere in the instructions does it explain how to activate the camera. If your looking for daytime pictures and videos only (with plenty of sunlight) this is the camera for you.
