Review: HotShot and my Quality of Life - I began having incapacitating night time leg "cramps" several years ago- no regular interval for the cramping and unable to identify the trigger. Not just wimpy charlie-horse cramps, but sustained muscle contractions that can last 5 minutes or more and often cause my foot to rotate internally at the ankle almost 45°. If I don't support my foot, it feels like my ankle will dislocate. I've always thought these cramps seem neurological, like a localized sustained seizure. Before and after an episode I often have muscle fasciculations (tiny contractions/twinges that are visible in the effected muscles and look like fireworks are going on inside my legs.) I knew that If I tried to describe an episode to a doctor I'd sound like a Nut-job, so my husband videoed an event and I brought it to appts with my regular doctor and then a neurologist. "Wow, that's interesting" were their responses which wasn't what I was hoping for, and their work-ups didn't reveal any abnormalities that would cause the cramping so they had no treatments to offer. I tried the usual remedies of increasing water intake and electrolyte supplements, but no change. The only thing I've found to have any impact is Vicodin which takes about an hour to be effective so it doesn't stop an event that's already in progress but it usually prevents me from having more cramps later in the night. Without Vicodin I honestly think I'd have psychological issues because the pain is so severe- about equal to pain I had with a kidney stone. The cramping is usually only a few times per month but relying on Vicodin is still a slippery slope and I try to keep it to a minimum. Thankfully the cramping events are intermittent and so far have only occurred at night. I can go several weeks without an attack and then, "boom"- every night for a week. No rhyme or reason. I've been surfing for 40+ years and recently started the more extreme sport of kiteboarding. One of my biggest fears is if I ever have a cramping episode while in the ocean I may not be able to keep my head above water while I support my cramping extremity. At least I could lay on my board if I was surfing and wouldn't be too far from shore. But kiteboarding, you're often much farther out in the ocean, and harnessed directly to a huge powerful "sail" (kite) in strong wind. Even the impact/flotation vest I wear wouldn't help keep my head above water if I cramped and had to support my foot while being dragged by the kite. Scary prospects and know my husband watches me like a hawk when I'm in the water. I refuse to let the cramping impact my quality of life so I continue to look for answers. I read about HotShot for exercise induced cramps and although I wasn't optimistic, I decided to try it. Kept a bottle on the nightstand and drank it about 20 seconds after the onset of my next cramping episode. Within 1-2 minutes my foot and ankle relaxed and returned to it's normal alignment and the contraction released/relaxed. There was no way to be positive that HotShot had stopped the cramping until I'd tried it 3 more times during similar episodes and had the same results- within 1-2 minutes after drinking HotShot the contraction releases. One night I did have a recurrence of cramping a couple of hours after the first bottle of HotShot so after HotShot stops an acute attack I'll often follow up with a Vicodin to prevent a recurrence. But now that I'm confident Hotshot will stop an acute cramping episode, I'm not as paranoid of every little leg twinge I have before bed and I don't feel the need "pre-treat" with Vicodin so I'm not taking them as often. If I have a "feeling" I'm going to have cramps in the night, I'll drink a bottle before bed but I can't say for sure that HotShot has prevented any cramping episodes . Just to be safe, I also take Hotshot to the beach and if I have the slightest twinge in my legs before kiteboarding I'll drink a bottle before I go in the ocean. But I can say with absolute certainty that HotShot will stop the muscle cramping if I drink it during one of my acute episodes.
Review: This really works. Stops cramps in one minute - I started experiencing horrible, debilitating muscle cramps all over my body several year ago. Not simply leg cramps but cramps in every muscle group including my fingers and toes. Some nights, I would wake up in absolute agony totally wracked in pain. I would drink several glasses of water and stand by the sink for an hour or so waiting for the cramps to subside. To remedy this chronic problem, I first made sure I was hydrated at all times. This meant drinking water throughout the day. The cramps lessened but still struck once a week or so. I then began removing things from my diet that I thought might be contributing to the cramps: alcohol, coffee, simple carbohydrates (junk food). The cramps lessened but still occurred too often. I began taking Potassium and Magnesium supplements and these provided a great deal of relief. My muscle cramp attacks happen infrequently now, maybe every other month and usually after I have become dehydrated, drink alcohol, physically over do it, and eat junk food. The fear of having a serious cramping event has lead me to Hot Shot cramp relief drink. As soon as I feel a cramp start to develop, I immediately sip a shot of HOT SHOT and all cramping activity goes away in about 1 minute! If I have been doing extreme physical activity or know I am not eating right, I will sip a HOT SHOT as a preventative measure. Today, I keep HOT SHOT on all floors of my house, I keep some in my car, and I keep some at work. This product REALLY works. If it works in an extreme case such as myself then it will work for the athlete or person who occasionally suffers from cramps. This is not some holistic, new age, homeopathic herbal medicine. This really works. This is also not designed to replenish electrolytes in your muscles. This stuff works because it is an ION blocker that disrupts the cramping signal from your muscles from reaching your brain,. A negative of this product is that it is expensive. But if given the alternative of standing by the sink in agony in the middle of the night for two hours, the cost is relative and worth it. Another drawback is that it tastes like hot sauce or like a strong fireball candy. I don't mind the taste but I can see how some might find it objectionable.

## Features

- Stops Cramps in Seconds - Right When You Need It: Our proprietary spicy formula targets the nerve firing behind your cramp and calms it, so you keep moving without a pause. One bottle mid-run, mid-game, or the moment a cramp hits helps support quick cramp relief. Delivers faster, more reliable relief than basic hydration drinks that only replace fluids.
- For Athletes & Seniors - Relief Always Within Reach: Endurance runners fighting calf cramps at mile 22, cyclists on long weekend rides, and adults dealing with nighttime leg cramps all reach for our HOTSHOT. The 1.7 oz bottles stock your gym bag, race kit, and nightstand at once, so real relief stays within arm's reach every day of training.
- Twist, Drink, Done - Before, During, or After: Drink one 15 to 30 minutes before hard training as your pre workout, drink mid-workout when a cramp starts to build, or take one after to recover. No mixing, no measuring scoops, no shaker bottle, just twist and drink the shot. Simpler than powders that need prep.
- Organic Heat, No Crash, No Prep: Ginger, cinnamon, capsaicin, and lime juice bring the heat to help stop muscle cramps fast. No caffeine and no sugar crash. Each 1.7 oz bottle stores at room temperature for months, so a 6-pack keeps you prepared through training, races, and recovery days.
- Serious cramp relief for serious athletes: Six 1.7 oz shots cover a marathon build, a month of nighttime cramp relief, or a full season of long rides and races. Best value for anyone who has already switched from pickle juice shots and prefers the HOTSHOT formula. Keep some in the gym bag, some by the bed, some in the car for game day.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I get bad calf cramps around mile 20 of long runs. Will this actually stop them faster?**
A: Yes, our shot calms the nerve firing behind the cramp in about 90 seconds. Take one mid-run the moment a calf tightens to help you keep your pace without the cramp getting in the way.

**Q: My mom wakes up at 2 a.m. with painful leg cramps, is this safe for seniors to keep on the nightstand for that**
A: Absolutely, seniors are one of the main groups we made this for. One 1.7 oz bottle by the bed lets her twist, drink, and stop the cramp in about 90 seconds so she can get back to sleep without pacing the hallway or stretching for an hour.

**Q: How spicy is the Spicy Mango flavor really, will I be able to drink the whole 1.7 oz shot without gagging on it?**
A: The Spicy Mango flavor delivers a quick, warming kick from ginger, cinnamon, capsaicin, and lime juice, balanced with mango. It's meant to be taken as a shot, and the heat fades quickly while helping stop muscle cramps fast.

**Q: Should I take this before my workout as a pre workout, or wait and only drink one when a cramp actually starts up?**
A: Both work well. Drink one 15 to 30 minutes before hard training to get ahead of cramps, drink one mid-workout the second a muscle twinges, or take one after to support post-workout routines. No mixing, no scoops, no shaker bottle, just twist & drink.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If You Have Leg Cramps Like No One Else You Know...
*by C***C on August 28, 2017*

...then this may be your salvation product. It has been for me. I read the Wall Street Journal article regarding the psychological nature of cramps and I am at a place where I cramp so badly, and so often, after running or biking that I had nothing to lose by trying the "placebo". I do not want to give up distance sports but I had got to a place where the cramp pain out paced the strenuous exercise. If I were going for a 30 mile bike ride, I would stretch for a10-15 minutes before the ride and 20-30 minutes after. I hydrated all through the ride and usually finished with some electrolytes or cocoanut water. Most times I would get ion the hot tub for 20 minutes and then go to bed. Two or three hours later I would get the most jolting, ridiculously painful cramps in my adductors or calves; either leg. The pain was so intense that on more than one occasion I had to beg my wife not to call an ambulance. Maybe you know how I feel, most people who cramp just walk it off, and have no idea what I am talking about. I read everything I could and heard so many old-fashioned remedies; pickle brine, salt tablets, quinine, over-hydration, McDonald's chocolate milk shakes, etc., that I realized, "If everything works, then obviously, none of these work." It made no sense to me. Why is it when I was when I was warm and full hydrated and stretched and in my warm bed....the cramps would attack? I have been using Hot Shots for about 9 months and I am a true believer. I started using them on my 100 mile rides, and drank one (they taste like ginger beer with a hint of Tabasco) for the occasional cramp which seems to occur around 75 miles. They work, but it takes a while for the cramp to go away so it is not the optimal moment to use one. However, for the 2:00 AM cramps they are phenomenal. On two different occasions my leg cramp has vanished within seconds (this while I am flopping and writing on my bed like a trout.) It is almost too good to be true. Other times, they may take 30 seconds, but never more than a minute. The interesting thing, which I cannot measure, is I am now taking them prophylactically before I go to sleep after a long run or ride, and when I do that, I do not cramp. It cannot be coincidence that my cramps have stopped, and were I a true researcher I should try passing on the Hot Shot, just one time after a tough workout, but the fact is, my cramps are so painful and long lasting that I do not want to take any chances. I have had cramps where my leg muscles are black and blue from my wife digging her fingers in as hard as she could (that works but I limp for 72 hours.) If you can relate to my cramping...you will love this product
