I had one like this eons ago that I used several times a week when I made breads. I was VERY happy to have found this one. I have an electric one, and a battery operated one, but I do NOT like them. This one was exactly what I was looking for!!!

I like that the measuring bowl lifts right off, for easy cleaning. It’s also very easy to tare/adjust the scale, all you do is turn the large bronze dial on the top of the scale. It measures up to 22 lbs, which is probably more food than you could ever fit in the 8.25-inch measuring bowl. I think it would be much better if either: (1) it included a larger bowl, or (2) it had a smaller weight capacity but more precise measurements.I tested it with weight plates, and it is reasonably accurate. The measured weight tends to run slightly higher than the actual weight, especially at heavier weights. For example, with just one 2.5 plate the measurement is pretty accurate at a smidge over 2.5. But if I put 4 x 2.5 plates the measurement is a little over 10 and 1/8 (see photo).The other thing is it’s a little bigger than I was expecting. It takes up a fair amount of space in the kitchen. I do like the grocery store style mechanical design which doesn’t require any batteries. But I have to say, a flat digital scale would take up far less space than this scale.The price is reasonable compared to comparable products, and the weight capacity is pretty good (if only it came with a larger bowl that could actually hold 22 lbs.)In summary, this is a nice-looking and easy to use weight scale, which is reasonably accurate at lighter weights. The bowl comes right off for easy cleaning, and the whole setup is pretty lightweight. It just takes up a lot of space in the kitchen.

Very light weight easy assembly, not as durable as I was hoping. Will work great for small household projects but definitely not for any bulk production

We got this because we are bakers who want to expand our use of recipes from outside the US, where measuring by weight is more popular than adding ingredients based on volume alone.While we have tried digital scales, I find I am always struggle to use them without getting them all smeared with ingredients from what I'm making.I also struggled with other aspect of the digital scales, which admittedly are more compact that his manual variation.Hence, I was ready to try something completely different and am thrilled I did.While this scale does take up space it has a lot of advantages:- Personally, I love the look, which has a classic nostalgia vibe.- This is very well made, with mostly metal construction.- This is so easy to tare, you simply turn the gold wheel about the face of the scale to set it to zero with a small twist.- Comes with a steel bowl to hold items to measure, but can be used with a wide variety of plates and bowls.- This is so easy to use! I love how easy measuring into this is. You don't struggle with pushing buttons at all; just decide what vessel you want to measure into, then add and subtract from it until you get the weight you want.I am really pleased with just about everything about this scale.The only real sticking point will be whether or not you have the space to give the scale,If you do, however, have that much free space, I absolutely recommend this.I love mine!

Received this box crushed, ripped, and broken. Scale is not set to zero and the adjustment screw does not work, therefore the whole thing is broken. Cheap, defective, horrible quality product. Buy brand name instead! Do not buy this product!!

This old school kitchen scale is it gonna be for everybody, most people would likely go for the electronic ones. But I grew up cooking at my grandmas kitchen using one of these scales so I will always prefer one of these to a digital one.This is super simple to use as you would imagine, just out what you want to weight on the tray and check the arms for the weight, that’s it. The overall quality is pretty good for the price point, and I really like the red which gives my kitchen a pop of color. As far as accuracy goes, I think about it to my digital scale, and it seems to be very accurate. Overall, I’m happy with it!

It works great for measuring but is quite big, for me that isn’t an issue I just put it away after using so it doesn’t take up counter space. It seems to measure accurately and is durable.
