Gritomatic Glass Blank 4" x 1" with Aluminum Mounting for KME (For Lapping Films)

Got my first blank and the glass was scratched, fairly deeply in one place. Returning it and getting a replacement was quick and easy, and the replacement was not scratched at all. No issues there.The blank is a nice flat piece of glass mounted on a small slab of aluminum for a resilient backing. There's no rubber pads or anything to keep it from sliding it around, so that's on you. It does come in resealable plastic packaging to protect it from damage, it's not much but if you keep it in a drawer this packaging should work great. The edges of the glass are ground smooth so you shouldn't cut yourself.My calipers say it's a little smaller than what they advertised (3.86 in. x .93 in., and the glass without the aluminum is approximately .16 in thick). Don't plan on sharpening a 1" chisel on this. It should work ok with smaller chisels and small knives will sharpen fine.

I used the aluminun mounted glass blank to lap a computer heat sink. Perfect fit in between the two supports.
