RAVE Sports 01083 High Speed Inflator/Deflator, 3.0 psi, 48 CFM 120 VAC, with Adaptors, Black

After purchasing several other brand inflator/deflators and being extremely disappointed in them, I purchased the Rave because it was on Amazon Prime and I needed it quickly for an event. (We use these units to inflate bunkers for a mobile lasertag business.) The Rave was quite a bit cheaper than others we have used but it works so much better. The nozzle sizes fit really well for a number of different applications that use and the motor is strong enough to fill some of our larger units without overheating. We have been very impressed with this unit so far. We use it every day and have been doing so for a few months now without any issues. I'll update my review if we have any trouble in the first year.

Used for my inflatable boat. I did need to modify the adapter to fit a Halkey Roberts valve. So much easier than my old foot pump. I would recommend this pump for most large volume inflatables.

We have 2 of these on board. One is just for backup. We have used this little guy on many trips and blow up everything on board as soon as we drop the anchor. We have a 10 x 10 platform, 3 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and a big WOW ring. The last time we used it, the hose did cracked so I duck taped it and it continues. We have had the first unit for about 2 years now. IT DOES GET HOT but it keeps working. I would recommend this unit if you have a lot of blow up toys.

The hose kind of melts in the sun and then it starts braking. The replacement is $15 but they charge you $21 for UPS ground shipping. Very upsetting!UPDATE: in all fairness, RAVE Sport was super responsive and they went above and beyond to help me by sending a new hose. Great customer service that gives a ton of credibility to the company but I wish they learned how to ship more cheaply. I would have been OK paying $15 for the hose.

This is a great pump. I use it to inflate my water trampoline. It would take an hour with a regular pump, this does it in 20 minutes. As for any other floats, works great. Comes with all the attachments too.

works great, but a little too loud. Scared the whole family! But not a big deal once you get used to it.

My rather frustrating experience with various air pumps over the last few years has shown that most “reasonably priced” units are extremely micky-mouse…don’t work well, overheat and take forever to inflate anything larger than a beachball. The RAVE unit attracted my attention listed as "industrial grade" for a moderate price. The listing also showed a wider range of adapters than many other units, and I thought the configuration using a hose would be more convenient than the type air pumps that require holding the unit against the item being inflated. That situation can be self-defeating if the inflation task takes a long time. The ten-foot long power cord, the locking hose collar and the carrying handle were other selling points. Yes it makes noise, as do all the rest of the air pumps that I've encountered, but it doesn't seem to be any louder than the rest....nothing that will harm hearing. However, it is fast. It inflated a fully-deflated queen-size airbed in 34 seconds. (The battery-powered pump that came with the air bed took over 25 minutes.) Consequently the noise-assault is of a much shorter duration. We haven't had to run it long enough to determine if heat would be a problem, but it seems like a solidly-built and probably-durable unit.
