As soon as it arrived I used "Leather Honey" on it, to give extra conditioning, which made the leather a bit darker color and that lightened back to close to original after drying. It is a well made bag, with thicker leather. It does show abrasions and scuff marks with usel, however, this just adds a vintage look to the bag and they mostly rub out. I wish it was a little bigger so as to hold a small water bottle. I would like to be able to ask the manufacturer to just send me a cover so I can affix it, but do not see anyway to do request this. My only option was to send the entire bag back for a replacement.
