Great brushes!
I am a novice watercolor artist. I have very cheap brushes, middle of the road brushes and brushes I paid nearly $100 for a set of three. Of them all, I like this travel set the best! I initially purchased this set so I could paint while in my oncologist's waiting room and other medical waiting rooms and that was the only purpose for buying them. However, these have become my favorite brushes! I ordered a second set so I could keep one set in my purse with my travel palette of mono pigment paints and one for home and to take to work so that I can paint during breaks. The brushes hold just the right amount of water. They seem quite durable and there has not been any hair loss (taking about the brushes, not me LOL). They unscrew and screw back together very firmly and nicely, not flimsy at all. So they are all designed. They function by well, so much so they are my go to brushes now. They break down to a great travel size with the hairs well protected and they deploy to a size that feels very nice in my hand. I've had no issues with staining, they clean up very nicely. I highly recommend but remember, YMMV (your mileage may vary).

Surprisingly Good
Originally, I wanted an inexpensive set of brushes and a couple of half pan sets to keep things compact and simple as I started exploring watercolor painting. I’ve since moved on to more sets of artists quality paints and brushes, but I find myself reaching for these brushes instead. After over four months I’m ready to review them. Pros: Great bristles, don’t know what they’re made of but they hold a good bit of water and paint and have the perfect firmness/softness for me. Easy to keep clean and hold their points. No stray hairs, either. The handles are excellent. Well-shaped and very comfortable to hold. Just the right length, no skimping. I have several Princeton Neptune and Richeson brushes with tapered handles that I don’t enjoy using nearly as well. Holes at the base of the handles to help protect from dampness. The leather case is soft and thin and feels like good quality. Holds the brushes well. Great price. Cons: The ferrule on one of the brushes is a bit lopsided, but just a bit and not noticeable when I’m using it. I would love to have a few more rounds and a small flat as well but can’t find any more options listed on Amazon. Overall, I’m not hard on my brushes and keep them clean but this set is holding up very well so far and is a real joy to use. Most of my other brushes are now packed into a brush roll and stuffed into a drawer while these stay accessible at my table and go with me everywhere.

Great brushes
These are great for watercolor. I take them with me when painting outside and use them when painting at home as well. They are properly dense, well shaped, and nicely weighted with the handles (the cap screws onto the end to form a long handle). They also dry quickly enough that I don't worry about carrying them around damp (but not so quickly they are a burden to paint with). They are straightforward to pack and unpack and hold water well. The sizes definitely cover the different levels of detail that I need. And the case is pretty classy looking as well.

So cute set! Good watercolor, gouache and Ink brushes!!!
Wow! I love it! they're very lightweight, convenient size, the brushes can hold water, very good quality brushes, I'm impressed, they do the job! Amazing! This brushes are very secure, because the bullets (brush store) screw on the brush stick, it's very easy, and have a nice length! have a three essential sizes 🥰 I highly recommend this!

So-So..
Overall, these are pretty good brushes. I got these based off all the good reviews it got, as well as the cost. (Ignored the bad reviews) The smallest brush (4) was the hardest to open. It was incredible stuck. It took all my strength, and then some, to finally get it open. The round 8, when open, is loose. The handle wabbles. The only brush without issues is the 12. The size of the brushes seem to be smaller than other brands of the same size. At least 2 sizes smaller. The writing (numbers) on the brushes came off after some use. After a few weeks, I realized that the size 4 brush wasn't actually "round". It doesn't come to a point at all. When I smoosh the bristles, it lays flat (the ends are straight across). The bristles on this brush were obviously not meant to be for a round brush. I wouldn't buy these again. Of the 3 brushes, I use the size 12 most. As it holds the most water, and has the better point. As tempting as the price is for a set of 3 travel brushes, you're better off getting 1 travel brush from one of the top brands.

Professional quality on a budget
I've been painting in watercolor for close to 15 years, and I bought these for my girlfriend since she's been wanting me to teach her watercolor. For the money, you simply cannot get a better value for travel brushes. I can hardly tell the difference between them, and my Silver Black Velvet travel brushes that cost more than this set per brush -The tips come to an exquisitely fine point and allow you to paint hair-thin details, even with the large #12 brush. -They hold plenty of water and paint, and you can get lovely smooth washes. -The brushes bounced cack nicely, and have enough stiffness to give you feeling, but are soft enough to be like you're not even touching the paper. -The brushes themselves are heavy, but for me it's not a bad thing. They give you more control while painting, and it's always welcome.

Great brushes, nice case
I bought these brushes after seeing a review from an artist I follow, Christian Sava, and I love them! They are so easy to travel with, are a lovely weight, high quality and hold their shape beautifully. I highly recommend them.

Not the best quality. Definitely bristles cannot achieve loose paintings.

I've seen other travel brush sets in my local art stores, but this set is of far better quality, and for a lower price. The leather pouch is nicely made, and holds the brushes snugly. The brushes also have a very nice weight in the hand, and the length is perfect once the brush cover is turned into a handle. I had a slight problem with the smallest brush in the first set I ordered, in that the brush section didn't fit tightly enough into the handle. I contacted the seller, was contacted quickly and courteously, and was promptly sent a new set. The new set just arrived and the handles all fit perfectly now, making for a great and versatile set of brushes. Although synthetic, the bristles are soft at the tip, but with enough "spring" in the body of the brush to be perfect for my purposes. I primarily work in watercolour, but don't like "floppy" brushes that are too soft, so these are great, and would probably work just as well for oil or acrylic. The bristles on all three of my brushes are shaped to a very fine point, with no straggling hairs. They do come with a very slight sizing, but when wet and dried again, they reshape to the same fine point. I would highly recommend both these brushes and this seller.

I was worried about this product seeming 'cheap' and having loose handles, as some people have noted. Not the case at all. The brushes are well made, the lids securely fasten to the base of the brush to form a good-fitting handle, and the brushes have a nice weight when using them. They hold a decent amount of water, and the point goes back to being sharp. I like them a lot.

Hi everyone. I purchased this set as a gift for someone. When it arrived I open up the package to check the contents to make sure everything is okay before gifting it. I was disappointed that a couple of the brushes were not able to open up. I mean it was stuck. The one brush that did open up was very beautiful. So my review is based on the one brush that I am able to see and on the customer service. As I stated, the one brush that I was able to open up was beautiful. It is nicely crafted, the bristles themselves looked like good quality and it have a very nice, clear, crisp point. I am a watercolorist, and I have used a lot of high end watercolour brushes such as Escoda kolinsky, Susan silver velvet brushes, Princeton elite brushes such as the aqua series, Neptune, Paul rubens etc.., and so based on my experiences with these brushes I can look at this product and tell off the bat that although they are no where high end, you will definitely get awesome results. The brush has a nice weight to them, the one that I was able to open has a beautiful wooden barrel. The brush is double crimped and there are holes on the bottom of the silver closure for proper air drying to prolong the life of the brushes. As far as customer service goes, I reached out to the company and informed them about the other brushes not being able to open and they assured me that they will attend to the matter. I hope this review helps you in making your purchase decision. Please note I was not compensated in anyway to write this review on behalf of the company. This review has been written from my personal experience on this product. Ps.. if this company puts in a little more attention to quality control they would have a really fantastic brush set. 😃

I love these, used them for years. I’ve bought other starter kits and this far exceeds in quality.
