Review: Perfect after some easy modifications - I ordered these small enclosures because one of our jumping spiders laid a second surprise egg sac, and her enclosure is not baby-proof. I knew that these weren't perfect as is for tiny slings, but I figured that with some modifications, they would work. Here's what I've found: 1) The screens on the sides aren't glued in properly, but a quick round with the hot glue gun fixed both sides. 2) I took the feeding tube and cut it. I didn't know how quickly the fruit flies would find their way out of those small holes, and I wanted it to be easier to feed the slings. Then I moved the thicker plastic ring above the enclosure and hot glued that to the enclosure so there were no small holes for the slings to squeeze through. 3) I ordered a set of 3 small metal funnels that fit perfectly into this tube opening. 4) I taped the edges where the enclosure opens as it doesn't close tightly enough. 5) I did not use the water bowl as slings could drown in them. I am using those for bigger jumping spiders, though. Once I did this, I could capture the slings as they escaped their mama's enclosure and separate them into the new smaller enclosures. The screens make it easy to mist them daily, keeping them humid and hydrated for molting, and with the funnels, it's super easy to feed them. And I've had zero escapees since making these modifications. Note that I did order one for a slightly larger but still juvenile jumping spider and didn't need to add tape along the edges of the enclosure, but I still made all the other modifications, and it's working perfectly for him/her. For the price and speed at which these arrived, it's absolutely worth it, and I will continue to order.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the hanging tube for spiders to drink and humidity?**
A: Mostly humidity. I wouldn’t rely on it to help them drink. A moist paper towel at the bottom will help droplets of water form on top. Don’t use the fake grass. It’s icky and useless.

**Q: How do spiders eat from the feeding hole? It looks like it's still enclosed in plastic. Please be very descriptive on how it operates.**
A: The feeding hole has a plunger seal. You pop it out and can drop feed inside and seal it back up. The stopper is sometimes a struggle so I say hold onto the enclosure in a flat surface so you do not jar the spider around. 

This opens like a ring box, if you can imagine. I opened it this way to clean or arrange enclosure items. You can always drop feed this way as well, it’s likely easier and quicker (And if you have a baby jumper in here they are going to web in the top corners so it’s totally ok, you won’t disturb the hammock. Any other spiders I wouldn’t recommend)

The water dropper won’t be enough. Just open the enclosure like a ring box and gently spritz water on one side of the enclosure. Or I sometimes did a damp paper towel which made the box humid enough to create its own water droplets on the side. This will have to be changed and I did easily by opening the entire enclosure. I did keep water in the little tube but it doesn’t serve a purpose, save for maybe keeping humidity up a bit. 

Please keep in mind I used this ONLY WHEN MY SPIDERS WERE SLINGS, or babies. This is NOT a good enclosure for an adult spider of any kind. I hope this helped.

**Q: Does this item come with bedding?**
A: Yes it comes with a grass fur bedding I wouldn’t suggest misting it or anything like that because it does mold and the tree bark attached with it will mold as well.

**Q: Do you have to still mist the box or does the water tube give enough humidity and water to drink?**
A: A wet paper towel will last days at the bottom. It’ll create its own water droplets. I had the tube filled as well, but it served only for humidity.

If I didn’t need it for my spider I would send it back without a second thought. My package was opened when it arrived, water bowl missing, tweezers broke, sat at the post office in Florida a week before it left there and delivered 2 days late so who’s to say it all didn’t happen there. However, There is a gap large enough for my spider to escape all around where the top and bottom meet, and he did. Luckily I found him in my window seal. I’ve had to tape it shut. The artificial moss carpet is fuzzy & sheds awful so it’ll need replaced soon. $15 is kind of expensive for something I had to rig up myself to make it work. Maybe this is the way they all are, it’s not the sellers fault it’s cheaply made, but I’ll just go ahead and save you the trouble and tell you to build your kit yourself from products with high ratings.
