How many of these packages would take care of a 54 quart tub with a gasket seal? (Sterilite 1934)

I use 1 of them in each 54-quart container that holds photo negatives and slides. It has worked well for me. A single Desiccant Pack will reduce the humidity in a container that is never opened. I think the real issue is how frequently you open/close the container. If you open and close the container frequently... which allows humid air to enter... then the Desiccant Pack will need regeneration more frequently... but a single Pack should dry out any of the common-sized home storage containers.

I purchased my dry tote on may 10, 2022 and it is june 13, 2022 today. the dots are no longer blue, just white. is it defective?

Nope. Sometimes the pink color gets faded. It is a chemical reaction with the moisture so it isn’t always perfect. Time to recharge it though :) If you aren’t sure if it is working or not, email me on our website and I’ll send you new ones!

Will these help preserve clothes and papers in storage bins in a dark, hot, humid outdoor storage?

They will keep the moisture levels inside the bin to acceptable levels for preservation of clothes and paper... But high temps will ruin any paper, so beware. Also, you have to keep up on recharge if it is a higher moisture area.
