Will this cassette work on a 24" youth mtb? Want to make my sons bike more capable than the 28 tooth cassette provides

If the 24 inch bike hub is a freehub and uses an 8 gear cassette, it should work. This will not work with a freewheel hub. This cassette also requires the correct Microshift derailleur and shifter. Recommend the derailleur with clutch and a crank gear with 30 - 34 teeth. I have a 26'er with this setup and it works very well.

No spacer provided. Fits fine on normal 8 speed hubs.

What type of hub? Threaded or spline?

Works with Shimano HG series hubs which have splines.
