I’ve got clay soil and I’m hoping it will improve water drainage. Thanks** A: Yes it will improve the grass BUT it’s best to aerate it quite a lot, pick up ALL of the cylindrical clay soil plugs, discard them, and then overdressing/levelling with a good quality top dressing which is 70-80% very fine sand. **Q: Brilliant tool but what do you do with the "ejected mud" as it looks like our dog has been on a Kamikazee mission** A: Great tool as you say....I used mine on two lawns last October...One a standard lawn and one meadow turf...I let the cores lay in both lawns over the winter and they gradually dispersed over time..Come spring unwanted flowers appeared on the standard lawn which I assume we're dormant seeds brought to the surface and then being activated...Therefore if you want a pristine lawn and are not sure what was previously growing there maybe removing the cores could be the best option...otherwise let them lay and rake in as fertiliser..... **Q: Any idea when the coreing aerator will be back in stock?** A: Dear customer, it will be in stock in about a week, please kindly be patient. **Q: Has anyone used and reviewed the walensee lawn spike aerator. reviews seem to be only for the coring version.** A: I would recommend the core aerator as it will work better than a spike. Much easier than a garden fork ...... the spikes on the Walensee are straight and enter / exit the ground easily, whereas a garden fork's spikes are curved which makes extraction more difficult. Whilst still labour intensive, the only thing better than this manual Walensee tool would be an automated hollow tining machine.
