WOW
TL;DR: run don't walk This is hands down the very best hair dryer I have ever used. I have had other pricey hair dryers and they don't hold a candle to this one. Yes, it is a big investment, but if you're serious about your hair care or if you have high maintenance hair that requires a lot to look even decent (my situation), it is so worth it. My most recent hair dryer before this one is the L'ange and I loved it, but I bought it when I was routinely styling my hair straight (I have curly hair) and their diffuser is your standard stuff. I have been on my curly hair journey to start styling my hair curly again and heard a lot of skuttlebutt about the diffuser on this hair dryer. The claims about the amazingness of the hair dryer itself plus the diffuser for curly gals is what sold me on trying it. I can confirm that the hair dryer is amazing no matter what attachment you use, and if you're a curly hair gal, the diffuser and hair dryer performance is even better than I thought it would be. My hair dries so much faster with less speed and less heat. This cuts down on heat damage, my curls are more intact, my hair is shinier, and now I am not sweating my butt off when I'm done drying my hair. The attachments are also so easy to use. I did see complaints about the weight of this hair dryer but I don't think it's heavy at all. Most high quality hair dryers are heavier than cheaper ones and this hair dryer is lighter than my L'ange was even with the big diffuser on. I suppose the weight could be an issue for someone with limited strength/mobility, but no more than any other good quality hair dryer.

Fantastic!
I purchased this recently and I am so glad I did. I have frizzy, corse, thick, and curly hair. I spent 40-50 mins drying to straighten out. I blowup revlon and conair dryers 2-3 times a year. No more! I now use the brush attachment and I can dry my hair in about 10-12 minutes. The dryer doesn’t overheat at all. No issues whatsoever! It has multiple speeds and heat levels making this perfect for restyling as well. I wish it was a little lighter (still lighter than the last conair i had). Other than that, it is the perfect hair dryer. Very comparable to Dyson just less expensive.

Powerful Dryer
I have been using this dryer for 7 months and wanted to review so that people will be sure the clean this dryer regularly. I have very think shoulder-length hair and shampoo about twice a week. I am a former hair stylist, so have a lot of experience with blow dryers. The last month or so I had been regretting buying this dryer, as I didn't think that it was really any better than the ones I paid $70 for in the past. It had gotten to where the dryer would just shut off. I had brushed the vent off, thinking that it might have something to do with that. Finally the other day I went to the website to check the warranty and pulled up the trouble shooting on this. The intake screen on the back of the dryer cannot be removed (this would be something that I would highly suggest the manufacturer change) for cleaning. It is the finest screen I have ever seen on a dryer. Like I said, I have cleaned it with a nail brush several times. On the troubleshooting, it says that you need to take a q-tip dipped in soapy water and wipe down the vent, then use a q-tip dipped in plain water to "rinse" it, let it dry for 24 hours. I did that and this morning when I did my hair, it was night and day difference. The power was crazy and my hair dried in a fraction of the time. I think with regular use, the flow declines a little at a time, so it's not noticeable until it gives you a problem. I would highly suggest that you clean this once a month as described above to keep this thing in top performance like the day you bought it. Again I would suggest the company make this vent so that it can be removed for soaking and cleaning.

Nice Hair Dryer but went with another Shark Model
I ended up buying Shark SpeedStyle Pro over this one. I compared the two and the SpeedStyle Pro dried my hair about 2 minutes faster and was more lightweight. This is a decent hairdryer and it took me 7 minutes total to dry my very thick hair (SpeedStyle took 5 min total). I hate doing my hair, so 2 min makes a bit difference for me.

Best I’ve ever had
I cannot tell you how much I love this blow dryer. I am someone who hates drying her hair because of how long it takes I have really thick hair and it takes forever to do anything to it but this blow dryer has changed that. I don’t have the Dyson so I cannot speak to the compare ability of the two but what I can tell you is I use this blow dryer all the time. the brush attachment is my favorite I use it so much it will blow dry my hair straight in about 30 minutes which for me is amazing. the diffuser is really good too I am not great at using the diffuser but I think it’s more user error on my part. The diffuser has a retractable option so you can make the prongs longer or shorter which is really really cool i don’t use the concentrator brush that much but I have used it and it’s really nice as well I honestly can’t say enough good things about this blow dryer and I love it I love the price I love the functionality it’s just overall a good buy if you’re on the fence just go for it because it is a great investment to put in for yourself you’re worth it and you should do it.

Doesn't last
The price of this dryer is obviously high. But I justified the money because I need to blow dry my hair every time I wash it. I don't wash it every day, or even every other day. Yet the dryer began overheating after two and a half years. Considering the frequency of use and price of product, this was very disappointing. I cleaned the filter, and deep cleaned the filter numerous times, but the dryer would automatically shut off after a few minutes. I tried different heat settings and speeds but the problem persisted. This dryer does not have a filter that you can remove to clean, which is unfortunate, as I assume that is why I and other customers have struggled with this issue. The design features of the product, especially the diffuser, is genius. But the dependency, unfortunately, is garbage. I contacted Shark about the problem, which I know they are aware of from reading about others' experience when I was trying to figure out how to fix it, and because it's been more than 2 years, I was offered a discount to purchase another one. $250 was a lot to pay for the first one, (again - not even used daily) and I would be foolish to pay that again - even with 30% off. If Shark would stand by their product, knowing that people are experiencing this design flaw, I would go on recommending this unique product. But because I know this is a known issue, I would warn that it is a risky purchase. And if you're a curly girl, make sure you hang on to your old dryer and diffuser to fall back on.

Wow! Tames my in-between frizzy hair
I was really skeptical about buying a $200 hair dryer, but I'm so glad I did and wish I had done it sooner. I have what I call in-between hair. It's not straight and it's not curly, but more than just wavy. No matter which way I decide to style it, it requires considerable effort. To straighten it, I need a good 30 minutes. Blow dry while brushing, then it is frizzy, so I have to clip it up and straighten it in sections. Awhile back I bought a dryer/brush but every time I used it, I'd just get frustrated at how low the air power was and go back to my hair frying dryer. I've had this for about a week, and before this morning I had only used it to refresh my straightened hair - I used the brush attachment and dry shampoo and it made my hair like day one. This morning I just used the brush attachment to try and straighten from wet. It works, and I'm stunned. My hair is straight with no product, no hot straightener, and SO much less time. I am so happy to find ONE tool for all styles and no damage. Time to make more room in my bathroom and donate all the old hair styling items I thought would be good but just caused annoyance.

Best Blow Dryer
I LOVE THIS BLOW DRYER. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to a different one after using this. First, it’s extremely quiet compared to a typical hair dryer, which is always a win if you are trying not to wake others early in the morning. The air flow is strong, but also automatically adjusts. You can change the temperature of the air and the flow level, which drastically reduces the risk of heat damage. My hair feels much more smooth after using. The buttons are stable and are not flimsy. The quality of the hair dryer is unmatched. My sister used it as well and said it was the best blow dry she’s had in a very long time! The price is really worth it for this product and I typically am not one to recommend a top of the line product unless it can really show it’s worth! The only annoying part is you MUST clean the back of the dryer routinely. However, they give you a tool to do this and it takes all of 1 minute to do a thorough clean. If you never clean the back filter, you’ll notice drying time increasing and function of the dryer decreasing. It’s annoying but not even bad enough for me to give it four stars because the function of it is so great. If you’re mulling over the decision to buy this, do it. You will not regret it.

Keeps turning off, filter is extremely sensitive to dust
The dryer works fine, although I’m not sure my hair quality is better for it. I’ve had to clean the filter at least once a month and I do not have a particularly dusty house. A little over a year after buying it it turns off 1-3 times per drying session (overheating). I’ve had professional grade dryers my entire life, this is the first time I’ve experienced this. Follow up: 2 years after receiving a replacement dryer, the overheating started again. DO NOT buy this product if you want to keep it more than 1-2 years. If you do decide to buy it, ask for a replacement at the first signs it has begun overheating.

Disappointed
Read so many incredible reviews on the product so was disappointed after a single use. I found the device got very hot when using and defeats the price tag of “less heat to dry”. Unit is heavy and can be hard to manipulate.
