Brain & Behavior: An Introduction to Biological Psychology

This book is filled with so much concise scientific information that unless you are a med or psychology student, it's not the kind of read you get for entertainment. I purchased it as required college material for a Brain and Behavior class. Studying for the test was not easy... Text is dense with dozens of new terms in each chapter, however the illustrations really help to navigate through the heavy information. Great book but a tough read.

Very interesting for those who need knowledge of psychology and how it relates to the brain. Some parts are boring and may be over some's head, but a good reference nonetheless.

I bought this book for a college student as a reference book to a college course she is taking. I did a quick read on it and it's well written with appropriate diagrams. It is focused on the structure of neurons and nerve centers that control and initiate human behavior. Reader probably needs to have some understanding of elementary neurotransmitters and hoe they interact at the nerve synapses.
