No, they are just cosmetic. You need a thermal conducting adhesive. I used grease and an external clip to hold the heat sink and the heated object together.

the pad comes separated and you can put them on. The pad has an adhesive on both sides.

From the base of the fin to its tip ,the fin high is 11mm,tolerance +/-0.2mm.
