Finally. Catches stray hairs, extremely close and comfortable
It’s actually a step up from their last model, surprisingly. I no longer have stray hairs on my neck and it’s a really close shave, all while not giving me red bumps. The eternal quest for an electric shaver that does what it says has ended. Well almost, it doesn’t clear my face in one stroke like it says it does but this is by far the best shaver/razor I’ve ever used. +Close shave. Once you get used to how the different blades work (like using the bottom shaving surface instead of the top on your top lip) this is the closest shave I’ve ever had. My wife comments on it regularly when our mornings line up. +Comfort. I get red bumps from any blade and most shavers, not from this though. Pretty much from the first day it’s left my skin alone. I cannot put on ferulic acid for skin care for a few hours after or it stings, but not having red bumps and being able to go to town on my neck is awesome +No stray whiskers. The last model left a few whiskers mostly on my neck or sometimes along the sideburns that I would trim off with a pen shaver. This however catches all of them, whatever the redesign they nailed it. + Battery is amazing. I took it on a 2 week vacation and never had to charge it despite shaving the back of my neck every few days too. +Cleaning station work. The last model I had the cleaning station did not work well. It would stop randomly and plugged up with debris while cleaning the shaver. This just works. +Time saver. It’s easily the fastest way to shave. there’s no prep, few strokes, and the design makes it easy to get straight lines on side burns or neck line because the shaving surface is a flat line. I’d say in total it takes me about 5 minutes to cover my entire neck (including above my back) and face from start to finish. Plus there’s no cleaning, and the blade lasts forever. A cleaning cartridge lasts about a month. +Cost. Despite being expensive, for a high quality shave the shaver and blade last forever. My last model shaver from them still works fine but I wanted to see if this was better at catching stray whiskers, which it is. There are cheaper ways to shave, but it’s also surprisingly not the most expensive if you keep it for multiple years. I have a thick beard, with neck hairs going in different directions, and sensitive skin (red bumps) to shaving. If you don’t have those things or even one of them you might be able to get away with a cheaper shaver. I can’t, and I’m increidbly happy to have a shaver that does everything

The Perfect Shave for a Bald Head
If you're someone who rocks a bald head and is tired of dealing with the hassle of a traditional razor, I highly recommend this Braun Razor. Having tried various products on the market, I can confidently say that this razor is a game-changer. Here's why: 1. Comfortable Shaving Experience: The Braun Series 9 Pro is designed with the utmost comfort in mind. The multiple cutting elements on the shaving head glide smoothly over the scalp, without causing any irritation or discomfort. Even with sensitive skin, I've never experienced any redness or razor burn after using this razor. 2. Efficient and Fast: This razor offers an incredibly close shave in a fraction of the time it takes with traditional razors. With its powerful motor and sharp blades, it effortlessly removes every hair on my head, leaving a smooth and impeccable finish. The precision trimmer attachment is also a great addition for shaping sideburns or detailing around the ears. 3. Wet & Dry Versatility: The Braun Series 9 Pro is 100% waterproof, allowing for both wet and dry shaves. This feature is particularly convenient when I'm in a hurry or prefer a quick dry shave. However, for a more luxurious experience, using shaving cream or gel with this razor works wonders, resulting in an even closer and smoother shave. 4. Long Battery Life: One of the highlights of this razor is its remarkable battery life. A full charge gives me weeks of shaving without having to worry about recharging. Even when the battery eventually starts to run low, a quick 5-minute charge provides enough power for one full shave, ensuring I'm never caught off guard. 5. Easy to Clean: The base station does a fantastic job of cleaning, drying, and charging all in one! 6. Durable Build: The Braun Razor feels solid in hand, and its build quality instills confidence in its longevity. Despite regular use, the razor has shown no sign of wearing down, and the blades have remained sharp. This is undoubtedly a long-term investment that will save you money on replacement parts in the long run. In conclusion, the Series 9 Pro is a top-notch grooming tool for bald heads and faces. Its performance, comfort, and versatility are unmatched. From its comfortable shave to its durable build and long-lasting battery, it's undoubtedly a fantastic investment. If you're looking for a razor that provides a flawlessly smooth shave every time, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Great shaver
This works great! Much better than my old Braun 800 series, night and day. I don't use the cleaner and it has been working well for 5 months now. It shaves well, even with a four day beard. There is very occasionally a neck hair that lies flat and does not catch, but it works much better than my old Braun. It is pricey, but worth it.

Still a Nice Razor
Bought the Series 9 Pro to replace a Series 5, which provided many years of good service and is still going strong, but was looking for a closer shave. This razor provides a little closer/better shave, the front design/controls are a little better, and the unit is a scosche lighter. Both shavers have nearly identical backs, but the Series 5's grip wraps a little farther around to the front and has a little more grip. The cleaning/charging station is different, so the old one cannot be used and the Series 5 cord is of better quality/design. The blade assembly is more complicated than the Series 5, hence the slightly better shave?, but it is harder to brush out the whisker residue. All in all, it is a nice razor and a slight step up from the Series 5, but it like my old shave, still doesn't do a great job around the upper neck area. Therefore, not giving it five stars. Also, there were multiple options for buying the Series 9 and I chose my version because it came with a nice leather traveling case.

Zero razor burn
Good quality unit. The dock makes caring for it really really easy. The refills for the dock are cheap and worth the time savings. Shave, park it in the dock, push the button, and it’s ready to go again tomorrow. The really awesome part is I have even intentionally not been careful, pressed too hard, and just generally wanted to see how lazy I had to be before it bit me. I have had zero razor burn, it’s been an absolute dream to shave with. It’s a quick, close shave, without the pain or shave bumps. Battery life is way better than I need. Looking forward to traveling with it. 10/10 would recommend.

Honestly, I don't plan on using any other razor.
Honestly, I don't plan on using any other shaver besides this one; I've been using it for a while now and it's time to share my opinion. I want to emphasize that it's the best thing you can have for daily use—I love it.

TERRIBLE RELIABILITY, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, Great shave, good battery life
I left the review below shortly after buying this razor, and generally I have been happy. This was my 2nd Braun Series 9 Pro. The change in review is because of the extremely poor reliability of this expensive shaver. I bought one in September 2022, and it failed just outside the warranty period in September 2024. I bought this specific Series 9 Pro in September 2024, and here it is September 2025, and it too has failed. The Braun customer service is IMPOSSIBLE to reach! The website is very difficult to navigate to get to the support telephone number. When I did find the number, they claim hours of 9am-6pm eastern time, so I called at 10am eastern, and got a message they they were not operating, and got hours (of which I was within!) I tried calling again at 3pm eastern, and got a message that they are unavailable and to call after 4pm eastern. I called at 4pm eastern and now I get a message that they are not available and I should call tomorrow! They are IMPOSSIBLE to reach for warranty discussions! You will get a great shave from this expensive shaver, but plan to replace it about every 12 to 18 months, and expect no help from Braun, as their customer service, as far as I can tell, do not exist! A warranty had no value if there is no way to have Braun honor it! This shaver gives a great shave. I use it daily in the shower, and can get more than 1 week of shaves on a charge. I've been using is for a couple months now, and continue to love it. The charging / cleaning base is a massive improvement from prior versions. The only downside is the high price, but you get what you pay for with this shaver.

Braun Series 9 PRO - 6 month review
This razor is the 4th in a series of Braun razors I've owned over my lifetime (also Norelco and Remington razors). This is the second series 9 razor and replaced one purchased in February 2020. I replaced the unit because of a few things: first the power switch got snagged and pulled away, because it was becoming noisy, the edge trimmer wasn't cutting as well and because the cost of a new cutting head was nearly 1/4 that of a new razor. Of note, after 5 years of daily use, mostly while traveling using battery power, there was never a decline in battery function or life. So with that background, now on to the review. I stayed with the Series 9, because I liked it the best of all Brauns I used. It was difficult to determine from the product description if the "PRO" designation really added anything, after all the cutting head looks identical to the standard series 9. The unit otherwise seems identical as well structurally and functionally. However, I do believe it cuts better. Six months in it still provides an excellent close shave without effort. I'm still on the original cutting head. I use the cleaning system daily (except when I, now rarely, travel away from home for a few days). My tough 70 yo beard is cut close without irritation and with little effort. For my beard I have found the razor works great on a daily growth up to a 3 day growth. I actually think the sweet spot is 2 days. Beyond 3 days you need to really give the razor time to chop thru the longer hairs, but it works great without lots of pulling. A few suggestions: (1) don't rush or push hard onto your face - let the razor slowly glide over the skin and you can hear when its done because you'll stop hearing it cut each beard hair as it is moved (2) there is no one best way to hold the razor and you'll end up using it turned one way and then flipped over for other parts of your face - this improves the closeness (3) use a quality pre-shave - this is essential and I highly recommend the Mennen AFTA Pre-electric Shave Lotion which you liberally apply then let evaporate a bit until you feel the skin slightly tighten - then have a great shave. I also use the AFTA After Shave as well. I've been using Mennen products my whole shaving life, as my father did as well, and can attest to their quality. One caveat: this unit came with the counter top cleaning system which seems to be nearly identical to the one with the 2020 razor, but I replaced the old one anyhow thinking Braun might have made an incremental improvement. The indicator lights work when they want to, but otherwise it cleans the razor well (so no stars off). But remember that this cleaning system is pretty critical (in my opinion) to keep the razor functioning, and much like printer toner cartridges, Braun has you by the beard hair by necessitating regular replacement of the cleaning solution cartridges. I get mine on a subscription cycle from Amazon and 4 cartidges cost me $24. How often you need to replace a cartridge depends, I usually get them every 5 months. But beware that they will require replacement even if you don't use the cleaning system much because the cleaning/lubricating solution is highly volatile and evaporates even if you don't use it. So you might as well use it and keep your razor in the best operating shape!! Lastly, when you purchase a new razor I'd also purchase a new cutting head for future use. After all, prices are only going up!!

You get what you pay for - a first class shaver
I have a serious skin condition, developed after Covid, one which can cause bleeding, blistering, skin inflammation, and sometimes sepsis. I purchased the Braun Series 9 Pro on Amazon one year ago for $400 Canadian. It is the best purchase I have ever made for a razor, and I regret not having bought it sooner. The Braun Series 9 Pro I am now using provides a close shave on my face and neck, with no irritation at all, and unusually, in my experience, even the trimmer works well. Is it worth the price? Compared to what? I had for many years used another well-known brand of shaver, produced in the U.S., but found I had to replace the shaver head several times a year because of irritation even before I developed this skin condition. I reviewed my purchases on Amazon in a 16- month period between January 2023 and May 2024, and found that I had spent not just $320 for 9 replacement blades for that razor in that period, and another $50 for a complete replacement of the razor, but also I had earlier spent an additional $45 for a trimmer because the original trimmer on the razor was useless. So, the bottom line is that in a little over a year, I spent on a cheap unreliable razor, as much as I would have had I originally bought the Braun. I also use the cleaning solution once a week, and this seems to keep the blades functioning smoothly. This is one of the few products I could recommend unreservedly to a friend if he wanted a close shave that doesn't irritate. Good work Braun. It is good to see a product that matches the claims made for it.

AMAZING razor
I am fixated on getting a close shave. I have used safety razors galore the last being Gillette 5 blades which gave me the closest shave of all the blades yet I still wasn't totally satisfied. I then tried Phillips i9000 electric and it was decent but had a hard time shaving my upper lip area and their cleaning system left a lot to be desired While reading CR I had an epiphany after reading the Braun review. I ordered it and , although not inexpensive it was worth every cent. My shave is amazing and the cleaning system is far better than any other brand I have tried . The cleaning function removes all hair and oil from the blades it also dries them. Back to the shave . .The blades get every nook and cranny of my face even my upper lip area is shaved close. I have been shaving for over 50 years and without a doubt the best shave ever . If there is a negative I found the instructions hard to follow but over all it is a great shave and works extremely fast .

The best upgrade I ever made
I had my series 7 for almost 6 years now and I was very skeptical about upgrading to the series this one specifically that mine was doing fine. I did my research and every review I have bumped in was somehow saying it wasn’t worth the upgrade and mentioned that the differences were pretty minor. But today I have received mine and “wow” seriously this is by far the best thing I have ever used and I am not just comparing this to the older version, I am comparing it to every freaking blade or trimming device I have ever tried! It’s fast, it’s smooth, clean, no irritation, flawless trim and absolutely zero after burn! Thank you Braun great job 🫡
