They do seem to do a good job of removing the tar

Should have researched before breathing in these plastic products, may block the tar but plastic particles might be worse

they do take tar or whatnot out of the smoke. i thought they left a taste in my mouth. i wasnt sure till i cut a battery out of the package , 2032, for a motherboard replacement. it was enclosed in plastic..,, then i could smell the same taste that i was experiencing perhaps i react differently, then most, perhaps not. i wanted wooden ones anyway, now i WILL get those.
