Windsor Electronic Whistle Single-Tone

I am a teacher and I use this electronic whistle to maintain control in the classroom. This is especially true at the beginning of the year when high school kids are the most rambunctious. I find the electronic whistle to be much more effective than ringing a bell to get the students attention and to get them to quiet down. Much more effective then having to raise my voice. The whistle's high-pitched shrill tone is perfect as it hits high frequencies that adults cannot hear but teenagers can. I don't have to use this whistle more than once a week after students get to know the classroom rules because the students hate it so much. The best compliment I have ever received for this whistle came from a teenage girl who asked me to stop using it because the tone was so jarring to her that it almost made her "pee in her pants." I told her to use peer pressure among her classmates to keep them quiet when I raised my hand in class. So the good news is that the sight of this whistle works like the bell did with Pavlov's dogs. When the classroom gets rowdy, the students will see me pull the whistle out of my pocket (it's bright orange and black) and they will quickly settle down. This is one device that should be in EVERY TEACHER'S TOOLKIT!

I officiate sports and during the Volleyball season, I needed an electronic whistle. Looking at several of the different versions, I settled on this one. When I show up to matches, My partners have other brands including the Fox. Most officials know that the Fox 40 whistle is loud and works well so they figured go with the Fox electronic version. My Windsor is much louder than the Fox and others that officials have shown up with. Players, Coaches and fans know when I sound the whistle the first time. That's important with all of the noise going on during the match. Would recommend the Windsor and will buy again.

I'm a collegiate hockey coach and purchased this whistle because I contracted Bell's Palsy as our season was beginning and couldn't blow a whistle. I thought about an air horn, but what I really wanted was something that sounded like a whistle. When I found this product I was a little apprehensive about it because I wasn't sure if it would be loud enough at the rink. It is not as loud as a mouth blown whistle (thus the four stars), but once the players started listening for it, it was loud enough to get their attention. Mouth blown whistles are between 115-127 db, this one is around 105 db. My normal whistle is pitched a bit higher than the other coaches whistles, and the Windsor has a similar higher pitch. If your players are used to a lower pitched whistle this one might take some getting used to. I've recovered from the Bell's Palsy and have gone back to my normal whistle, but this did work well for me at the rink.

I bought this for my wife for when she takes her students out to recess, and she loves it. It seems slightly less loud than a standard whistle, but it's been loud enough for her needs, and of course a standard whistle is pretty close to your ears when you're blowing it, whereas this one isn't. One small drawback is that she likes to keep this in her purse, and there's no way to cover the always-exposed button. That's one improvement I'd like to see for anyone who wants to keep this in a pocket or purse, but doesn't want it to accidentally be triggered.

I purchased this for my wife who is a new teacher almost a year ago. Originally she asked me to purchase a whistle for school. I began researching whistles and found that normal whistles are horribly disgusting when you thinking about it. Think about it, your basically spitting into this small device repeatdly over and over again. Creating a nasty environment for germs and other bad things to build up. I looked into the possibility of an electronic whistle to avoid this issue. I also wanted it to function if she was sick or unable to use the whistle. She has used it effectively outside and occasionally inside. It is not as loud as a normal whistle but she reports that it is still viable. Her peers are also impressed and have asked where she purchased it.

This electronic whistle was a gift from my in-laws. They thought it would be better and easier than a standard whistle I use to coach my soccer team. I was hesitant to use it because I did not think it would really work well, but to my surprise it worked great. In fact, due to my success we have equipped all of our rec league referees with these and that has been successful. Some of the younger refs are hesitant to blow the whistle and with this device it is always loud enough to hear.

Purchased for officiating swim meets. It sounds nothing like a standard whistle. If you've ever heard the shrill shriek of a hotel fire alarm then you've hear this sound. It's extremely loud and obnoxious so it can definitely be heard. It's very responsive, and can be used for short or long whistles effectively. The wrist strap is a good size and has an adjustment. Overall it's a useable whistle but I've heard the Fox40 electronic whistle and it sounds much more "realistic" so I will be ordering it soon.

Awesome! It keeps from people sharing a dirty whistle. I love it and would buy again. The sound is loud enough for elementary school size gym. A traditional whistle may be louder but this is better!

This whistle has driven my players crazy which makes me happy. Honestly, it has saved my voice and lowered my blood pressure!
