GREAT for doing it all, especially for dining while on the go
After a lot of research, I purchased this glorious item for $19.99 shortly after baby was born 9/16. The 7 attached photos were taken at different homes/restaurants/stores, showing baby at age 5 months to her current 13 months. The product is gender neutral, soft, comfortable yet durable, machine washable, and will work for years down the road. It seriously replaces 3-4 bulky contraptions that other parents have. It doesn't matter if your kiddo is small/big/long, this item adjusts easily and will make your parenting life EASIER.I'm on to the go a LOT with my little one. And, I often have to bring baby along to women's homes who are a bit older (meaning, kids are grown and out of the house) and have NOTHING baby-friendly around. Maybe you're in the same boat, but with relatives? Never fear! I just slap this harness on baby, and she could crawl (she looked like a leashed pet, it's a riot) and (now) walk with controlled supervision without me having to constantly bend down to pull her off of something. When food is involved, she is content to sit in any chair the host happens to have, strapped in and secure. (And you know what? When you know your kid isn't going anywhere and your hands are free, you can actually have a few bites of your OWN meal! Shocking!) Traveling overnight? We stayed at a hotel last weekend and baby was NOT interested in just sitting on the floor to eat dinner, so I finally plopped her in this thing, and strapped her to the hotels desk chair. Unable to escape, she settled down and was able to focus on her meal.Even at restaurants, you'd be surprised by how often highchairs aren't available, or they only offer boosters. Quick example: When baby was 7 months old (been using this item since baby was about 5 months old, at the age when 'just sleeping the whole time in the carseat' is no longer the norm) me and four other mothers with young kiddos (all eating solids) decided to grab lunch at a restaurant, and the staff person said they only had four highchairs. We all looked awkwardly down at the five babies, when I cheerfully reassured them "We have a seat of our own, don't worry!" Whew! Such a lifesaver. Another time, the restaurant service was so slow, we figured they probably did have a highchair around somewhere but we didn't want to wait another 25 minutes to find out. And we didn't have to. Yay! (You'll see from the photos that all kinds of chair backings work with this product.)Also, when it comes to shopping carts...once baby was able to sit up strong on her own, I thought this item would no longer be needed in that area, except for the rare case that a carts child strap is missing/broken. Not so! We were at the store several weeks ago, and after 15 minutes 12 month old baby started getting antsy, b/c she can walk now. Since she was already in the harness, I just took her out of the cart, extended the leash portion, and let her "loose" for five minutes! Then I shortened the leash portion again, strapped her back into the cart, and she was happy for another 15+ minutes. It was great! (Quick tip: When baby starts to walk but is wobbly, use the harness to keep them from falling as much.) AND, once your kiddo is really really quick, be sure to keep them in this, with the leash portion extended, when you have to use the restroom at a store or restaurant..! Otherwise they'll be crawling under the stall door and making a getaway while you try to zip up, grab your bag and make a dash after them! LolI ALWAYS keep this item in our diaper backpack as it takes up hardly any space. Be smart and buy this!

This product is great! Less expensive than other versions
This product is great! Less expensive than other versions, but good quality and versatile. I even use it in high chairs at the restaurant. My daughter is 10 months, but even if I put her in a restaurant high chair, there is a lot of extra room and she would easily slide out. It wasn't very relaxing, trying to prevent that accident from happening. Now I stick her in this device and it holds her securely in the high chair and I can focus on feeding her or interacting with her and know she won't slide out the bottom! She can also wiggle around, but still stay in place. I've also used this device when visiting at a friend's house that was not baby proofed and I could use it to help her sit on an adult chair so I did not have to hold my daughter the entire time. This device is adaptable to many chairs. I keep it in my diaper bag because it is now an on-the-go essential. Once she starts walking, I like that this can be converted to a walking harness if she turns out to be a wanderer. I like the idea of it being around her waist instead of her hand. I recommend this product.

love it- but not for my daughter
I wanted this to work so badly, but even before I ordered it, I was afraid there wasn't going to be enough support- I love how light weight it is, and the material so I ordered it anyway. I've used it a few times and I do love the material still, the strap is a little thin, but it seems like its sewn on really well. The only problem is (as I expected) it only holds my daughter back from her hips, and around the waist. She can still bend over and basically touch her head on the edge of the chair because she's flexible and her shoulders and upper body isn't being held back by anything. I wish it had some shoulder straps that were on the front and buckled around the back. She's constantly leaning and nudging forward so her whole upper body is all over the place. Might be better for a bigger/ heavier kid- she's super small. I used this on our wagon though and it was perfect. Good quality product. Needs thicker straps and shoulder straps

This was a great purchase!
This was a great purchase!! I initially bought it to use as a safety strap to feed one of my twins for our trip but ended up loving it as a walking harness. We walked him so much it that he's almost walking on his own! The best part of using it as a walking harness is that you dont have to lean down and get an achy back with the straps you can make them as long or short to your arms length. My son seemed to like it as well. Plus its folds up so small and easy to pack in your diaper/carry on bag.

A necessity for every mom!
This is a very versatile piece of baby gear. It can be used as a high chair, on a shopping cart, and a method to keep a running toddler close to you. It is soft and easy to clean. It has a nice little pocket that is the perfect size for a pacifier or small toy. My favorite part is how compact. I have twins and carry a lot of gear. I need items that are small and can be used for multiple purposes. This is a great baby shower gift idea!

It is made of great quality! It's just not long enough to fit around the old wooden high chair which I bought if for.
