Perfect For Embossed Holiday Cookies
I'm an avid baker of holiday cookies, and this year I decided to add speculoos cookies to my repertoire. Unfortunately, without intervention, they are plain cookies that don't prompt people to reach for them on a tray of more visually enticing types. Enter this rolling pin. Its embossed area is about 7.5" wide, and, with the right pressure, it easily creates a design on the dough's surface. I further dressed up the cookies by using a scalloped ravioli cutter to cut them into individual pieces. Of course, you can use this with any rolled cookie dough recipe that won't be decorated after the fact. The key to success is learning not to press too lightly and not to put your full weight into it, either. The pin is made with natural, unpainted wood; the dark embossed design is due to the burning process to create it. The pin rolls easily on its metal rod. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Nice Rolling Pin
I bought this to make my holiday pies look prettier. The pin is a quality pin but my feelings are the design on the pin are not deep enough. The pie crust had small indentions which disappointed me.

Well-made and decent depth of embossing
It’s really well made but the pattern is pretty big for small cookies

Cute but won’t roll easily
The embossing is a cute pattern but you have to really flour the rolling pin so the dough doesn’t stick. The roller didn’t roll very easily so I had to just roll the actual pin instead of using the handles. It’s super light but doesn’t seem like superior quality.

Gimmick product. Otherwise why would they stain it?
I feel like I could have milled this better by slathering bacon grease on it in a pattern and letting my dog chew the wood. It is so shallow that you cannot detect the pattern after baking. It's also really tiny, I'm not sure if there are dimensions given in the description, but this is my second smallest rolling pin, and I have a 20 cm one from India that is bigger.

Decorative rolling pin
I used this to make salt art ornaments for Christmas. Easy to work with and easy to clean with a soft brush

Embossing is faint on cookie dough but rolling pin is very pretty…
…so I will not return it! Going to experiment with other types of dough (I used an Italian sugar cookie recipe). I will also emboss the fondant that I make to cover our Christmas fruitcake. I know it will hold the emboss since it won’t be baked.

Beautifully embossed
The rolling pin was exactly as described and shown. I gave it as an early gift to a baker in my family - and she loved it! Beautiful present.

doesn't work
The grooves in the pattern on this rolling pin are to shallow so will not leave a pattern on your baking.....very dissapointed
