Good enough considering OEM isnโt available
The product fits well and is relatively easy to install, aside from the center console disassembly. Being plastic, itโs obviously flimsy and is of less quality than oem, but it was the best I could find for the price since an oem part seems unavailable.

Just Junk, Not Worth the Money
After reading the reviews for this, I already knew it was going to be a little bit big for my 2006 Mustang. I had to shave it down on both sides to make it fit, which was rather easy. But after only using it for only about 10 mins it snapped in half, so now I am back to where I started. The material is so thin, brittle and flimsy, that it is a purchase I regret making.

Perfect, but make the time to install this
I drive a 2009 Ford Mustang sheโs a V6, the original panel for the shifter started breaking in pieces, and I could barely shift it into any of the gears my boyfriend gladly replaced it with this guy, shifts nice and smooth again, the only thing is that if you have the red light indicator for what gear you are in it does not appear with this one. Itโs just all white lights on all of the gears so hopefully you know what gear youโre in by the sound Iโve driven this car for 4 years so I know what gear Iโm in by the feel, so itโs not an issue for me. Perfect fit. I definitely recommend looking up a video to install this. You have to take apart the entire center console. It is not an easy task. It took my man about two hours and he is a certified technician.

Decent Replacement - HOWEVER (Please Read)
This product is a decent replacement. I bought it to replace the automatic transmission dust cover on my 2005 Mustang LX (V6 model). HOWEVER - PLEASE READ I am going to address some complaint reviews and some compliment reviews. I will include what I would say is the critically important information. 1) This piece IS NOT a universal fit and MAY NOT fit your application without minor trimming. I had to trim my piece down approximately 1/16" on each side after measuring and drawing a cut line using a cutting wheel. The piece is approximately 2-1/8" wide. The channel that my sons transmission has is roughly 2" wide. 2) Upon inspecting the piece out of the package, it appears to be either hand cut or popped out of a sheet. The edges aren't perfectly straight and there was a jagged edge on one side. (If you have to trim, this doesn't matter.) 3) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking your transmission shifter prior to purchase. Knowing I would need to modify the piece ahead of time would have been nice. This is very easy to do. Place your transmission in Neutral or all the way down to 1st, set the parking brake, and turn the car off. On the front side of your shifter (facing stereo) there is a set screw. Remove the set screw and GENTLY slide the shifter up. DO NOT PULL OFF. The shifter has a small electrical connection for the Overdrive button. If the underside of your shifter housing has a plastic cylinder that slides over a small shifter shaft, you will likely have to modify the piece. That is what my shifter looks like. If, when you slide the shifter up, there is a square shaft with a round notch, the piece will probably fit without trimming. From my research, that is what the shifters look like that dont require trimming. I don't know if this is a difference between the LX and GT shifters or if it is a matter of where the car was assembled. 4) THIS IS NOT OEM. THERE ARE NO OEM REPLACEMENTS FOR THIS PART. As such, when you remove your broken dust cover, you will also be pulling out the shift locator strip. The strip has a red dot on it that would indicate the gear placement. 5) This replacement is about half as thick as the OEM dust cover. If you try to force it into the slot and it doesn't drop right into place, you'll probably break it. Don't be surprised or complain if and when this happens. 6) Lastly, this repair takes 30min to 1hr to complete. You must remove the shifter bezel, the two side trim pieces on the stereo console (on the sides of the stereo), and BOTH layers of the center console (between the front seats). Do your homework and modify carefully if needed!

Works ok
this was for a 2005 Mustang V6 and I had to trim the sides down to make it fit, it doesnt have the support ribs like original did, I think only reason the original broke was i found lots of dirt and gummy residue from maybe a spilled soda which caused binding and tore up the original, the same thing will happen again with this one and it will take less debri to damage it, try to keep your slots clean, no other choice on fixing the original one so this is it. With care it should last a while, so much nicer to have the hole plugged up and it looks very nice.

Thin plastic and too wide
Basically a thin plastic replacement for the factory slide/cover that went bad on a 2006 Mustang at 60,000 miles. Cover was approx. 1/16" too wide to move properly. Trimmed off one side, works fine now. Price seems a little high for a thin plastic sheet. (But I didn't have a pattern so maybe it is fair). Saved buying a complete new assembly for over $150. As an FYI.....Gear position indicator is not operational with this cover.
