C is for Cookie (and Crumbles, and Crumbs)...That's Good Enough For Me.
If you purchase a round tin of David's Butter Pecan Meltaway Cookies, you'll want to start thinking about what items around your house could be organized and stored in cookie tins -- sewing supplies? band-aids and unguents? crayons and markers? cosmetics? -- because you are most definitely going to have a steady stream of cookie tins entering your life. Lordy, these cookies are so good and so addictive. YES, there are broken pieces, crumbles and crumbs. LOTS. A soft beach of cookie sand at the bottom of each of the four quadrants in the tin. I can see that other customers are complaining about this. I would gently suggest to those folks (and you) that you think creatively. Get out a spoon. Eat that cookie detritus with the spoon. It's still cookies, people! Or, sprinkle the detritus on top of vanilla ice cream. Or on top of pudding. Or on top of a slice of cake. Mix it with whip cream. Mix it with frosting. Mix it with honey nut cream cheese! When you go to a fro-yo or "top your own ice cream" establishment, are "cookie crumbles" not an option for toppings?! They are! These crumbs are a legit entity unto themselves, not a problem, is what I'm saying. Okay. Lecture over. Time for more cookies.

My favorite cookies
I recently tried David’s Cookies Butter Pecan Meltaways (907g), and I must say, they are a delightful treat! Here’s a detailed review based on my experience: Packaging and First Impressions The David’s Cookies Butter Pecan Meltaways come in a large, sturdy box with clear, simple packaging that highlights the delicious treat inside. The box is well-sealed, ensuring freshness when it arrives. Upon opening, the cookies are neatly arranged inside, and there’s a protective layer between them to prevent them from breaking or sticking together. The scent immediately hits you as you open the box — a delicious buttery and nutty aroma that promises a rich, indulgent flavor. The size of the box (907g) is quite generous, making it perfect for sharing or stocking up for a party or special occasion. Texture and Flavor The Butter Pecan Meltaways are incredibly melt-in-your-mouth soft. The texture is light and airy, almost like a shortbread, but with the added richness of butter. As you bite into them, the buttery flavor is the first thing you notice, and then you get the delicious crunch of the pecans in every bite. The pecans are finely chopped, so they blend perfectly with the cookie, adding texture without overpowering the flavor. The cookies are not too sweet, which is great if you prefer a more balanced taste. The pecans add a slightly nutty and roasted flavor that pairs wonderfully with the rich, creamy butter. The combination creates a delicate sweetness that is incredibly satisfying without being overwhelming. Size and Shape The cookies are small to medium-sized, perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings. They are round and slightly thick, with a delicate, crumbly texture. Each cookie has a slightly glossy finish, hinting at the butter used in the recipe. While they’re not overly large, their richness means that one or two cookies are more than enough to satisfy a sweet craving. Freshness and Quality One of the standout features of these cookies is the freshness. Despite being pre-packaged, they taste like they’ve just been baked. The buttery richness and freshness of the pecans stand out, and there’s no hint of artificial flavor or aftertaste. The cookies stay soft and fresh for quite a while (I’ve been able to enjoy them over a week with no noticeable decline in quality), which speaks to the care taken in their packaging and storage. Value for Money At 907g, you get a substantial amount of cookies for the price. Given the premium quality and flavor, these cookies offer excellent value for money, especially if you’re looking for a treat to share with family or guests. The generous serving size means you’ll have plenty to enjoy over time, making it a great option for gifting or as a staple in your snack pantry. Occasions These cookies are perfect for a variety of occasions. Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering, looking for a sweet addition to a dessert table, or just enjoying a quiet afternoon with a cup of coffee or tea, they fit any situation. Their classic flavor and elegant presentation also make them a wonderful gift for birthdays, holidays, or special events. Conclusion Overall, David’s Cookies Butter Pecan Meltaways are an absolute treat. The melt-in-your-mouth texture, buttery richness, and crunchy pecan goodness make them stand out as one of the best packaged cookies I’ve had in a long time. The flavor is well-balanced, not too sweet, and perfect for those who enjoy a delicate, nutty treat. If you’re a fan of buttery cookies and pecans, I highly recommend trying these. They’re an excellent choice for those who love high-quality cookies with a sophisticated flavor profile. Whether you’re treating yourself or sharing with friends and family, these meltaways are sure to impress.

Simply delicious. Melts in your mouth
Oh my!! Simply delicious! I used to buy David's Cookies through QVC. The ones you bake yourself and these pecan melt aways always my favorite. I wanted to try these on Amazon that's already baked. So happy I tried. YUMMY right out of the cookie tin. Soft and soooo GOOD! A few crushed cookies but I feel that's exactly. I am not picky or a complainer like that. When you buy cookies through the mail... it will not come 100% perfect. I love these and will definitely buy more and more. The most delicious cookies to me.

Heavenly cookies!
The problem with David’s cookies is that you can’t stop eating them. They are as good, if not better, than my mother’s homemade ones. Worth the money.

A Delicious Waste
Absolutely delicious "wedding cookies". However, they are absolutely a waste to purchase because as others have stated they are way too fragile for shipping and Amazon's handling. You should expect about 25% or more of your cookies to be completely obliterated when you open the tin. I've eaten these type wedding cookies for years and from homemade to Edgar's Bakery that are firm, crunchy and don't crumble in your hand when you take a bite. The weight of these cookies is noticeably lighter than other wedding cookies. If David's would beef up their cookie these would be my goto wedding cookie, but unfortunately it's not worth the price when 25% of the cookies are powdered in the bottom of the tin.

Helppppppppppppppppppppp
Wedding cookies are my all time favorite cookie. I miss the pink box in a huge way and maybe if they didn't put them on the TOP SHELF in every daggum grocery store, we would still have them today! That being said, the green tin at Aldi during Nov-Dec is the second best, but nearly impossible to find after those months and are 10 bucks a tin. But, I buy them out bc they are worth it. I was hoping David's would be a solid replacement. I got them in store (Costco I believe) and enjoyed them. They weren't exact as they are missing that coconut taste and chocolate chips. But, definitely sufficient. However, I got this big pack and was pretty disappointed after shipment. Most of the powder was off the cookies and sitting in the divides. But the hardest part to get past was they tasted over cooked. The ones bought at Costco definitely did not taste that way. But these? It was like they were cooked just a few minutes too long and I could taste it. They were a little more brittle too and not in a good way. I am going to give them another shot but going to purchase the choc chip and pecan this time. I'm a little annoyed I'll be spending more for a lot less, but I am trying to run down the flavor profile desperately. From here, it is making them from scratch and it is highly likely that I'll keep chasing this dragon. David's folks, if you do read this, please work on your shipping packaging. The powder was 75% settled in the tin and not on the cookies and please fix whatever caused my batch to be overcooked. I'm basically begging on this stupid internet for yall to get this right. I'll 5 star the other one I am buying if you guys will heed the advice and I am sure I am not the first telling you this. Thanks from the grown man in Alabama chasing after the nostalgia of his 80s-90s childhood into young adulthood. I'm preying with back, knees, and my eyes see low level lights like lightsabers in the night. And all I am asking for? Wedding cookies... ....some daggum wedding cookies. 😞

Disappointed & Crestfallen 😞
Very disappointing! I have had the pleasure of experiencing David's pecan melt aways this past Christmas when I purchased two 2 lb tins at an incredibly great price at roughly $12.99 a piece. One of the tins almost didn't make it home because I could not stop eating it. I was consumed in consuming these cookies. My mind was absolutely blown away by every aspect of this cookie. I may have even drawn attention to myself while driving and gobbling up these cookies I just could not put them down. I have been unable to find them anywhere else, but low and behold yesterday I found them on Amazon. What a great surprise what a great Fortune! That is until I opened my delivery box. I opened the 2 lb 10 with great celebration and joy albeit with only my dog. It was Joy enough just to receive it and open up to the most delicious cookie I have been craving ever since Christmas. That Joy was intensified because of the scarcity in finding these cookies they're not on the grocery store shelves. Finally I had an opportunity to taste these gems once again. I opened the tin and I was aghast! They certainly did not look the way they should and the way they had, when I purchased two 2lb tins at Christmas. But indeed the proof is in the bite of the cookie itself. No matter how it looked it was in the quality of the cookie itself so I commenced to consuming one. And I was sorely disappointed. The cookies themselves seem as though they are not at optimal for lack of a better word freshness. They are not what they should be. They have not passed the best by date so that is in good standing. But I presume it is in the storage. The packing of the cookies itself appeared to be the last of the lot because I received quite a bit of fine crumbs and or cookie dust as though it was the last of the barrel and the very bottom of it. I presume it was in the storage somehow because all cookies are intact. But it appears that they were not stored correctly because the cookie itself has absorbed most all of the powdered sugar that is coated around the cookie, you do not see that settled anywhere within the partitioned Packaging. The partition packaging does have a bit of creasing or denting to it as though it happened while packing it into the tin or dropped beforehand. The shipping box is in perfect condition and so is the packaging Inside the Box. There are no signs whatsoever of any moisture to the box or Packaging material, or that it had been wetted then dried. But no no evidence of that. It is simply the cookie inside of the tin that was not stored correctly somewhere along the line. In such case though the cookie is still edible it does not have the mouth feel and bite that a proper David's pecan Melt Away would have. And that is a shame and so very disappointing especially because it is so very difficult for me to afford any sort of treats for myself. I'm simply not in the position to treat myself to such Indulgence. Yes there are a time or two for ones mental health in which we can make these exceptions, and this purchase was one of them. Imagine how my heart felt when I discovered just how wrong the state of this cookie was as I received it. This is so incredibly disappointing. If it was something that I did but no as soon as it was delivered and the delivery personnel had left I was out on my porch to retrieve the package. It was merely moments there after I opened and to my sad surprise the treat I had anticipated all day and swiped away any opportunity to purchase other treats while I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, because I knew I had this treat coming today and there would be no need for me to purchase anything needlessly. I so look forward to this and my hopes were dashed. Indeed the delivery was Swift and just under 24 hours from purchase it was at my door. I do give High Praise for a safe delivery and Speedy at that. But what was inside was my worst nightmare. For me that is a lot of money. And I feel I had been taken advantage of and some sort of way. This is a food product and and ineligible for return. So I am stuck with it and there it's yours now deal with it on your own. I'm sorry all I have left to say are things that I just should not as a lady. I'm going to thank anyone who gives me any consideration in Reading this review and any disappointment you yourself may feel in reading this, and knowing that you represent this product. It's not on you, I suppose now it's all on me. Most sincerely heartbroken. Rachelle Daro-Stauffer

Very nice treat
I took a chance on these when I saw them (not originally bought through Amazon), but I liked them enough to get more and a number of sellers on Amazon have them. They are very tasty and not overly sweet. They are worth the shot if you haven’t tried them before.
