Works Great
I had the Toppik version of this hairline optimizer and it broke...at twice the price. This works like a charm, using whatever kind of fibers or spray you like. There are two in the package, and it's a good deal. It does work! I place it at my hairline, sprinkle the fibers (I use Caboki), and then use the teeth to lightly comb it back into my hairline. Perfect.

Good coverage
This product has very good coverage for empty scalp syndrome. I found the medium brown to be a little to dark for my taste even though I consider myself having medium brown hair. I ordered the light brown which more closely matches my hair on the top of my head (probably because the gray mixed in with the medium brown is closer to light brown) but I have to use more of the product to get good scalp coverage. This much of the product leaves a grittiness on my hair that makes it feel like two days of hairspray, but I would not give up this product unless I found something better, which I haven't. I would recommend this to anyone self-conscious about their scalp showing through their thinning hair.

Designed for short hair.
I purchased this with XFusion Medium blonde. I didn't really need it - it's made of cardboard and probably works well on short hair. My hair isn't short, so this wasn't much help. I have better luck pulling up my hair with a tail comb, then applying the XFusion to my scalp.

Total waste of money
Tried to use it with the spray applicator but with no success. Either I don't know how to use it properly or it's a total waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this product. I did fine without it.

Paper Junk
This product is made from paper so the small "combs" bend very easily which makes it useless. It also gets discolored and looks nasty. If it was made from a light plastic it could at least be washed to keep it clean. Save your money and put it towards a decent product.

Better than the homemade one I made
I had made a "hairline" guide out of cardboard and it worked okay, but it never really followed my hairline perfectly so I decided to try this one from X Fusion. The optimizer is like a plastic comb with uneven teeth. I have somewhat curly hair so the "hairline" effect is less noticeable, but the optimizer does its job. Overall, it's worth the minimal investment.

Worth the purchase
I did not use these at first and always had a hard time getting the hairline to look right. I recommend these with the applicator they sell. While you don't "need" them, they are worth the extra money if you want a more natural look. I fought buying them at first but I do recommend buying them.

I can see where this would work for people with hair loss issues. I just needed in between hair color coverage with a little lift from fibers. The product that goes with this was not what I needed.
