Incredibly, I was able to remove and replace the part and put everything back together in under 30 minutes! I saved a ton of money, accomplished something, and gave myself a nice little boost of confidence! If you can use a screw driver and have enough strength to move the washing machine away from the wall, you too can do this! My machine is running great and the leak is gone! I'll update as required, if it ever fails or leaks, in an unreasonable amount of time. One month update : No leaks. With prime I was able to get the part and have the washer fixed before the weekend (laundry time). This is super easy to replace yourself. There are some good YouTube videos on this and all you need are basic tools. If you are getting water under your washer this is most likely the cause. LG website will say it is soap build up, but if you are using He detergent that is probably not the case. Once you slide the top of the washer off (see YouTube video) you can tell within minutes of this is the part that is leaking. My washer was only 3 years old when the original part started leaking. Saved myself hundreds by repairing myself. As I mentioned before - it is very easy to replace and this part has held up well.
