Q: How do i turn these on?

There's a button on the back of the solar panel and a remote control.

Had the same question when I set them up. It has to be dark outside. I put the solar panel against my shirt and turned it on to set it. Later that night when it was dark out they turned on.

Q: Is there anything special you need to do to get the remote to work, aside from pulling out the plastic tab?

The remote on mine works. However, it didn't seem to a first. I think it's when I readjusted the solar panel to better receive the signal. It works so far from a distance of 20 ft. Maybe more. I did write a review that there should be a manual for the remote, including proper placement of the receiving panel and maximum distance.

Yes i have 2 sets one multi colored and one warm white.they are beautiful
