This looks durable and was very easy to install. These are getting hard to find and if you do, they are out of my price point. Good value for the money.

I bought this item to replace one that quit working after 30 years. The installation was easy, done in just a few minutes and it restored function to my central vacuum system. I like the looks of it better than the old ones, so I ordered more to replace the others in my home.

Ez to install, and just as described.

Perfect replacement for receptacle. Pins inside receptacle go bad after several years use.

Update: Noise was the result of over-tightening te plate screws. This causes the plate to warp and not seal properly. Backing out the screws until the noise stopped solved the problem. It fits and mounts properly, but the rubber door does not stay firmly closed and creates a flatulent noise (think "raspberries" noise you can make with your lips) when another inlet is in use. A firm press against the door stops the noise. As if either the spring is not strong enough or, more likely, the seal is uneven. Happens with all the outlets purchased and installed.

IF someone tells you these are not available (such as at a so-called vacuum cleaner store) do not believe them and order these! Perfect fit for nearly all brands of central vacuum systems where the on-off switch is built into the hose.

I have ordered these items twice. The first order of 2 each inlet valve plates was fine fits over the vacuum line perfectly and works well. The second order was also for 2 each inlet valve plates. one (1) was bad, the two contacts did not pop up to make electrical contact with the metal vacuum hose connector, as if the springs were not installed. So, one goor, one bad. .
