Most of the ceiling fans that I've installed in my home came from Amazon and have given me good service. However I recently returned one that I ordered from Amazon because I could not control the fan and lights separately from my wall switches and it was tacky. My delay installing a ceiling fan in our smallest bedroom was that I had converted into my office. Most fans were simply too big. Fortunately my rooms have modern overhead fixture wiring in the ceiling that gives me separate wall-switch control of the light and fan. I dislike remote controls because they are easily misplaced and are, in my opinion, an unnecessary distraction. This fan model has separate, clearly labeled pull chains for the light and the fan and a reversing switch and, of course, separate wiring to control the two. This Honeywell Ocean Breeze ceiling fan could not have pleased me more. Some assembly is required. Although I've installed many ceiling fans, please be advised that it's easy to install the fan blades on the brackets wrong if you're not paying close attention. Read the instructions carefully and then read them again to make sure you get them right before hanging this fan. The only tools I needed were a Phillips screwdriver and a wire stripper. A small snag was that the included wire nuts were too small to connect the fan's stranded wire to my #14 copper wiring. Fortunately, I had larger wire nuts on hand. Needing more light than the two paltry 5-watt LED lamps included with the fan could provide, I removed the two 15-watt LED lamps from the ceiling fixture this fan replaced and installed them in this fan's light globe, which is rated for up to 60-watts. My final result is a handsome fan, right-sized for my small room. It runs quietly even on its highest speed which moves a lot of air, and is perfectly balanced without my adding compensating weights. The two 15-watt LED bulbs barely fit the globe but they provide me with good light. Aside from this fan's attractive appearance and good performance it feels solid, though not too heavy to hang comfortably on its accompanying ceiling bracket. It mounted securely on my existing ceiling fixture box. Amazon's price for this fan was better than I could find for a similar model at any of my local big box stores. I am now a fan of this fan.

Building a cabin right now and the rooms are a little smaller than standard-sized house rooms, so looked everywhere for a small fan (in the 24-36” range) that looked halfway rustic and also had a downrod and was capable of being hung on an angled ceiling. Finally found this guy, although was leery of the look of the frosted glass bulb enclosure at first. Put this together and first impression is that it is well-made, good components even though made overseas, and beefy and nice and heavy for it’s size! Which is a good thing. Not so heavy that you’re worried about it’s weight, just heavy in that it’s components are obviously of a good and substantial material. This thing looks nice. The color of the blades and houses is natural enough to go well with a rustic look, and the frosted glass enclosure adds a touch of class without interfering with the rustic look. Really adds a nice touch of character to the room! Also, the ceiling in which I installed this is a 4/12 pitch, just inside the limits of ceiling angle it states it can accept, and because the blades are small enough, I actually decided to stick with the 4” downrod it came with and not change that out to a 12” downrod, which would have made it hang too low. On the 4” downrod, the blades have about a 4-5” clearance to the ceiling at their tips, which I know is not “ideal”, you want 10” or so, but hanging this around the 8’ height of our ceiling it had to be with the 4” downrod. For it to look right with a 12” downrod you’d have to move it up the angled ceiling where it now is at almost the 10’ ceiling height mark, which was beyond the room at that point. So for me I ordered the 12” downrod, put the fan together with the 4” downrod it came with, and then held the fan up in it’s ideal spot with the 4” downrod at ceiling height and then also held the fan up and simulated what the fan would look like with the 12” downrod in hand next to it. Unless you have really high ceilings, you’ll find a longer downrod will not look right. If your ceiling pitch is greater than what this states it is rated for, all you need to do is order a separate canopy for it that accepts steeper angles. I had to do this for a living room ceiling fan for our cathedral living room ceilings that are 9/12 pitch. Not a big deal. So overall, this fan for it’s price for the bill nicely and looks great! Haven’t run it yet so no comments on actual performance in motion.
