Knog Oi Bike Bicycle Bell - Original Luxury Styles, Built-in Cable Clip, Adult/Youth Bicycle Bell (Black, Copper, Brass, Aluminum)

I bought this bell in the summer of 2018; it's 2019 now and I'm giving my year-long tested review. The reason I got this - I'm in NYC, and in the last few years as biking has become increasingly popular with younger riders, specifically teenagers who get together in groups and do "ride-outs", which for those who are unfamiliar with the term, is dozens of people swarming the streets at once on their bikes and basically taking over all lanes of traffic. Because of this, the NYPD has been cracking down on bicycle safety, and people have been getting tickets for not having proper equipment, or the worst case scenario, getting their bikes seized for dangerous riding. I'm a BMX rider, so I set out to make sure I have all the proper items on my bike so I would not run into trouble. I know it is unorthodox for a BMX to have all safety gear required by NYC equipped on it (people usually strip everything down off these types of bikes for weight), but I'd rather have this cool looking bell than pay a fine for not having it. The bell itself - I absolutely love the design of it. I'm surprised it hasn't existed sooner. And even though I could have bought any random cheapie bell just for my bike to be street legal, I specifically got the Knog Oi. I know there are tons of counterfeits floating around since it came out, but I truly appreciate the design and engineering that went into this bell. The original creators deserve their recognition and should get the benefits. It has a pleasant tone that is clearly audible; although on a very noisy NYC street it can be easily drowned out. In more suburban or rural areas it should be fine though. The bell's ringer is very stable on it's springs and I haven't had any instance where it went off unless I hit a really rough patch or a pothole. The only complaint about the mounting is that the instructions specifically tell you not to overtighten the screw; so over time it will get loose and the bell will move. Not a big deal, so aside from invariable re-tightening of the screw, there's nothing wrong with this bell to knock any stars off it for. The packaging - The packaging looks great and there's no complaints there. However, I had no idea the bell came with it's own hex key (alan wrench). I found it inside the box only after looking around for special instructions about what hex size the screw takes after trying to use every wrench I had and none of them fit. I'm guessing the screw is either specific to the Knog Oi, or perhaps it is some kind of Australian metric size that isn't common in the United States. Either way, it's not a big deal, but there's nothing on the packaging that says the hex key is included. I had no idea it came with one at all. But if you're wondering, it is found under the inset holder that the bell sits in inside the box. Overall, this is just the coolest looking bike bell out there and perfectly compliments an aggressive looking BMX bike. If you're looking for a bell just to get your bike up to code to be street ridable and roadworthy, this is the one. Excellent invention and excellent product!

Great for crowded e-bike handlebars! The narrow design fit perfectly in reach. It’s sturdy, stays put, and very easy to install even in a tight space. I like the minimalist deco design. The tone is plenty loud and has a wonderfully musical quality. This bell is a winner for me!

I'd give this bell 5 stars but it took 9 days to get it! The company ships using DHL so maybe that's the problem. And the tracking was not detailed at all, so for awhile I thought it had been lost. Now that I can finally put it on my bike, I really like it! Looks good and is well made. The small size does not come with a ring adapter to adjust it down for smaller handlebars but it fit perfectly on my Aventon Level, I like that it has a narrow profile and doesn't take up a lot of space. I mounted it close to the handlebar grips. The sound is just loud enough.

First the pros: #1. Sleek design. Very low profile. Looks great. #2. The tone. It’s a very pleasant chime. Some bells I’ve had and or heard used can be a tad shrill. I have actually gotten compliments on the sound. #3. Easy to install. Seems like a no brainer, but, being able to install something without removing the grips is a good thing for many of us. #4. Color choice and materials. I just got the black aluminum one because I have shiny black bars and wanted a clean look. But the copper and titanium ones were on the short list too. #5. Volume. I ride on a shared used trail that run along a canal. It’s generally pretty quiet. It’s loud enough to alert pedestrians from around 50 feet or so. Unless they are wearing earbuds, then they are oblivious to anything. Now the cons: #1. Longevity. There’s a lot of reviews stating that they broke the hammer. I can see why. It’s very thin plastic at the hinge. Time will tell. #2. Volume. I know I just said that it’s got a good volume, but, that’s for my particular area. In a noisier place, it’s very quiet. If you ride primarily in areas with a lot of traffic, look some place else. I really like this bell. I just hope that it will last a while. I bought this, no incentive to review but I enjoy the bell.

THE GOOD: The aesthetics are wonderful - it is clean, sleek and minimalist. It is easy to install. It comes with it's own Allen wrench so no having to have that exact size tool when getting this product. BE ADVISED: The sound of the bell is not the loudest; this is OK with me - may not be for others. THE BAD: The part you press with your thumb to strike the bell is made of plastic and a small spring. This plastic piece broke the second day I used it. It is too thin I assume as it split and was only held on by the spring and a wafer thin piece of plastic. It was hanging on by a thread after that so to speak. This part should be made of a more durable material. This company DOES in fact make another model with what appears to be a metal piece. Why this is not the only product they should sell I have no idea. The so-called "classic" version - the one with the plastic piece is crap. And at $20 not what I would call throw away cheap. The metal handle version looks to be selling for twice that amount. Very dissatisfied.

I was looking for a small, bell for my bike, that would not also break the bank. Based on a review of a friend, I looking into this Knog Oi Bell. My road bike is slightly tapered in the middle, so I initially struggled a bit finding a good mouting point that would work. If you thick or to skinny, then the bell does not operate that well. I did find a good spot eventually, and the brake/shifter holes in the bell allowed for the cable to be routed through the bell. Pros: - it looks really good. I would have preferred black, but hey were out, so I have copper - its small. I didnt want something large - good price Cons: - install was a little tricky, so I think others might have trouble - it dings.. but I wish it were maybe 2x louder. IMHO its soft, to soft - the paddle to flick to "ding" the bell feels cheap. Its not broken or fallen off yet, but it just feels that it might. Would I buy again. Maybe. I would perhaps look around for alternatives first. But the size and the cost hit two points I would like. I would I recommend to other? perhaps. I would share my likes/dislikes and allow them to form their own views. Biggest drawback, its two soft for my view

Very compact, perfect for a mountain bike as it would be impossible to snag. Sound is pleasant but never fails to get the needed attention.

I'm cautiously giving this bicycle bell 5 stars. The original one I purchased eventually failed. The spring came out of alignment, and the bell wouldn't operate. A bicycle warning bell is a legal requirement for many of the trails I use so it's a necessity not an option and it should work. I selected this bell again because I couldn't help being captivated by its appearance. I'm not often swayed by appearance but in this case I was. It seemed as if it made all the other options look rather dated or even more appropriate for a child's bike. The sound it makes is loud and beautiful and of course with the metal band (I prefer copper) it is striking in appearance. I ordered the large diameter so it could be adapted to a range of handlebar sizes. It was very easy to install with the included shim material. I'm hopeful that whatever caused the original bell to fail will not happen again. If it does, I will revisit this review and update it.

Yurtdışında zile vuran yaylı kolun koptuğunu söyleyenler var ama muhtemelen hor kullandıkları için. Çabuk kopacak bir parçaya benzemiyor. Ben fren kolu ve ön vites kolunun arasına monte ettim. Sola takacaklar için söyleyeyim: ön vites yoksa direkt takarsınız, varsa araya koymak lazım, çünkü fren + vites kolunun yanına koyarsanız bu sefer baş parmak uzak kalıyor, ergonomik olmuyor. Elim büyük olduğu halde, bana erişimi rahat gelmedi. Şekli hoş, sesi de dikkate değer, tavsiye ederim. Sağ tarafa da taksanız olur ama aynı senaryo gerçekleşir. Kutunun içinden bir tane alyan çıkıyor. İçerisindeki alyanda ve ayrı bir kağıtta özellikle uyarı var. Çok sıkılmamasını tembihlemişler.

Love these good sounding bells. I’ve bought one for each of our bikes including my fast road bike. They are aerodynamic too! Just be careful to order the right size. It defaults to the smaller size
