As someone with absolutely no experience with slacklines, I am very happy with this kit. Our back yard has a spot in the corner that is pretty open and my wife and I have been trying to figure out what we want to do with it. Our home owners association has some pretty strict rules about the height of back yard structures and the size of shed buildings so those options were pretty limited. HOAs are fine and all, but sometimes I feel like they overstep their intended purpose; but that's a rant for another place. Anyway, we decided it would be fun for the growing kids (and for us) to setup a slackline area. Our trees are really only good for a temporary setup so we're planning to install an anchor for one side and will use an established tree on the other. Until that point, we have set it up a few different times to test it out and see how bad we really are at it. Setting up the unit is pretty simple. Again, as I mentioned before, I am completely new to this so the included instructions were nice and explained how to keep the line straight and keep it from twisting and it's nice that you can easily shorten the setup for smaller distances. The main ratchet is easy to use and big enough to be able to put a good amount of tension on the line (side note: a lot of the videos talk about how everyone has a different tension preference, but I've found tighter is better for beginners like me). The set includes everything you would need for a basic setup if you already have secure posts. We've only set up the training line once since it doesn't work well with the trees in our yard but it seems like it will be pretty beneficial once we get our designated area set up. I especially like the extra piece that allows you to not have to hold the training line directly. I haven't quite figured out the best way to do it, but I'm getting there. I think my biggest difficulty there is that I set it up for my kids height so it wasn't very supportive for the height of a full grown adult. If only there was a quick adjustment on my tree, but I digress... I've been using the tree savers because they are easy enough to put on with just the Velcro-type attachment and I've seen what extended use without them can do to a tree. Even though others may not find it important, I will continue to use them and I'm happy they were included. The one thing I wish I had was a good carabiner. I'll have to pick one up that will work with my anchor once I get to that point. I won't really fault this kit for not having one, but you should know it may be necessary to pick up some additional pieces depending on your specific situation. Again, if you have two trees or secure posts, this has enough to get you up and falling down on your own.

My kids (ages 8 and 11) absolutely love it. The "training line" (the overhead line) is a total game-changer. It gives them something to hold onto while they find their balance, which prevented them from getting frustrated in the first ten minutes. It’s been great to keep them busy.

I bought this for my daughter in hopes that it would help build her upper body strength. She is tiny for her age and not very athletic at all and also a bit clumsy. We were looking for something she could have fun with and also help improve her strength. We’ve only had it a week and so far it has been difficult for her but it’s been a challenge that she loves and is determined to conquer. And that has made us very happy. I think this thing is great for any kid and wish things like this had been around when I was younger. As far as putting it together goes it wasn’t too bad. I was able to put it together alone but it absolutely would’ve gone a lot quicker and easier with help. I also bought two rope ladders and a wheel obstacle. The rope ladder definitely help if you’re going to hang it a little higher. I highly recommend this product.

Product took me 10 minutes to set up, with no prior experience setting up slack lines. And about 5 minutes to take down. The instruction manual provided for set up is not helpful, but a quick google search will explain set up in a few minutes. The line feels extremely sturdy, and I’m 200 pounds. The ratchet is high quality, on both the main line and the practice line. I will say it’s much heavy than expected, but that’s not a complaint. I was able to jump on this line repeatedly, and there was no slipping of the line and I never felt and loss in tension. Package arrived in 6 days, using the free shipping option. Overall, This line was a great deal. I would also highly suggest if your debating between this line or the one without the practice line, get this one. The practice line makes learning soooo much easier, it would be almost impossible to learn without that.

Bought this on a bit of a whim. Set up was easy for me, as I have used similar ratchets for boats and cargo... even a backyard zip line we set up once. You'll need a ladder to set up the training assist line.. to get it high enough to be effective but out of the way. Kids have fun with it.. Yet its stout enough for my 200+ lbs. The training strap is great for those of us less adept at balancey things.. The ONLY criticism is that its easy to fray the secondary balance strap.. My kids twisted it back on itself a few times.. turning back and forth on the slack line.. and that left one short area continuing to wear at a singular spot. Its easy enough to fashion a new strap from spare webbing laying around. I don't see the tree saver bands lasting very long.. But the trees we use (20+ yr old cedars) won't be damaged much from the thick slackline webbing, anyway. Younger, smaller trees might be damaged. Use your better judgement when installing.

If your looking for something that involves being outdoors and is fun for the whole family, this is a great product! My kids got it as a Christmas gift and really love the challenge of walking across the imaginary lava pit. However, a word of caution... there is a reason that the instructions say to set up the slackline around knee height. I found this out when I decided to bravely cross the lava pit of doom. I was about midway across when my confidence decided to leave me and my legs began dancing like a wiggly worm hitting the hot pavement. What happened next left me second guessing my decision setting up the slackline around hip height. Both feet went outwards leaving the extremely tension line that was sagging due to my weight to spring up as I was coming down. The sound of the slap was quickly heard before the pain began to surge, and all that was left to do was roll over and fall helplessly into the lava pit of doom. I felt as if my manhood was forever gone as my voice regressed to my teenage years of puberty. My facial expressions changing as I tried to utter "I'm okay" words to my wife who was laughing harder than she's ever laugh in her life. I finally regained my thoughts and slowly developed super powers to crawl out of the lava pit of doom... my children cheering me on. This Christmas will never be forgotten and I owe it all to my lack of reading instructions that came with the Slackline Kit.

We have all been really enjoying the slackline. All of my kids, age 3 to 9, have had lots of fun learning to walk the line. The training line has definitely been key in helping them learn. If it wasn't for that, I'd have to be out there constantly holding them up as they walk across which would be fine except I would never get anything done anywhere else. They are out there so much during the day playing. Not only have they learned to balance but they play war and see who can hang on the longest and are now working on doing small tricks. It really is a lot of fun. My only complaint would be that the short line they send that helps shorter kids hang on to the training line completely frayed and was no longer usable in the first day or two that we had the line up. My 3 year old was pretty disappointed about that but still loves walking it with our help. Even without it, though, I am really glad we went with this slackline!

I first tried to make my own slackline for the kids to climg on with rope but quickly discovered this kit and realized it would cost me just as much in rope and it would ultimately suck compared to actually getting a real slackline. We are so happy with our purchase. The kids love it. We have ages 4-15 here between my kods and friends kids. They all love it. Im 5 months pregnant and i can set it up with ease in a few minutes. Its sturdy and alot of fun! The tree guards are great. My trees are failry large so i can only use one tree guard but we dont mind. Thanks for making an awesome product!
