World's Smallest Plasma Ball – Fun, Interactive STEM Marvel, NO Bulb, NOT a Light Source

After running for 20 minutes there was a small pop and it stopped functioning, permanently. Might last longer if only used in short bursts but could be hazardous as suggested by other reviews.

The packaging was great and it worked very well... For about 5 minutes! It was sitting on the table in front of us and then turned off. I went to inspect the power cable and about 60 seconds later a HORRIBLE smell filled the room and we could see the side of it melting. After unplugging it, the base was very hot to the touch and when unscrewed it to check the circuit board you could see where it has smoked out. Fun little toy while it worked, but if we had left it plugged in it could have been a massive fire hazard! If this had been next to the kid's bed or on a bookshelf it absolutely could have ended in a serious injury
