I can comfortably trust these for paid mixing work. They're easier to drive than my Sennheiser HD600s and are orders of magnitude more comfortable. The soundstage is a little closer than open backs, but you don't lose the fine details at all.They are comfortable enough for extended sessions, while also being sturdy and stylish. I've seen some say they are a little tight, but they were clearly designed to be worn while moving and playing instruments so I find them to be just right. And the choice to use mini xlr didn't make sense until I'd used them for a while, now I wish this was the headphone standard. It's a secure connection that needs a button press to remove, so no more pulling the plug out while moving your arms around. And the cable is thick enough that very little movement noise is transferred. Also, including multiple cable lengths is fantastic as I can have the short one live at my mixing desk and the long one for the studio.The sound profile is so flat that it was a little jarring at first, these are absolutely designed for creators more than listeners. But if you push them with a good DAC and some fun EQ then oh lawdy, they can purr! From the couple of times I've really driven them hard, I can say fairly confidently that your eardrums will pop before the drivers do. But don't do that, you need your eardrums. Probably.A steal at full price, so if there's a deal on then I'd snap them up. I can see these being my workhorse for the next decade. Very pleased! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic quality and comfort *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 24 August 2026* Needed to upgrade my headphones as I’d been using some vintage one from the 90’s (!) and after upgrading components on my analogue stereo set up decided they weren’t cutting it anymoreI did my research online and for the genre of music I tend to listen to , mostly on vinyl or CD , plus my vintage set up these came out topsI also decided to go for the option of B stock as these were quite a bit cheaperThese are absolutely brilliant! The clarity of the sound and depth of bass is just fantastic . They were like brand new out the box - no marks or anything other than a sticker to say B stock . I like the fact these headphonesHave replaceable parts - you can replace the ear pads and head pad , also the lead is detachable ( has a dedicated socket on the left ear pod to plug in . This stops the usual problem of wires becoming damaged and sound cutting out and then not being able to repair them . I’m using the gold plated 3.5mm jack via my amp so good solid connection and no interference. These are also really comfortable for long periods of listening . The ear cups are a soft velour covered memory foam and sit nicely on the ears with just the right amount of prsssure to keep them snug and in place .I also do music recording /production and these can be used for this too . So a double win of not having to buy more than one pair of phones .I would definitely recommend these and even buying the B stock version . Very good quality for the price . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Neutral accurate detailed *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 2 August 2022* How do you listen to music, and what relationship do you want with it? These headphones major on detail and neutrality as they are purposed for critical monitoring and mixing in studio environments. Which is not how I use them. They are plugged in to my smartphone via a little AudioQuest Dragonfly Cobalt DAC for enjoyable music listening, mostly at home. Comfy. Lightweight. Closed back isolation. Easy load to drive. Not exactly discreet but you could take them out when you travel, because you are a discerning listener, less concerned about what they look like, and more interested in how they make your music sound. Right? And how is that? Very accurate, detailed, revealing, allowing you to listen right into the mix, stable, composed, good separation and soundstage, nimble. They put out what you put in, so don’t expect them to smooth over badly recorded, over compressed, or poorly mixed content. The better your source the better they sound. Always a benchmark for good audio gear. Initially they take some getting used to. First, some time is needed for them to break in, despite what the manufacturer tells you about “ ready out of the box”. However break in time is a lot less than many other audiophile components. Leave music running through them overnight at a reasonable volume or better, one of those wide frequency range burn in cds that have all sorts of blips, peeps and rumbles on them. Done that? OK, so where’s the bass? It’s all there, but not boosted so that it interferes with other frequencies. That might put some off, as might a certain sense of detachment. These Beyers don’t get you on stage with the band. Instead you are further back in the auditorium, right where the guys on the mixing desk are sitting. You are in the correct place, listening to everything that’s going on rather than abandoning yourself to shaking your stuff right down at the front. That’s how they are designed. To monitor. Whether you consider this a drawback depends on how you like your music served up. I’d say don’t be put off. I’m loving them, and your music will sound great once your ears and brain have adjusted to the differences. Be patient and you will get your reward. Well designed, easy to wear, robust, replaceable parts, well priced.
