Super cool and unique gift for the person who has everything

This pen arrived in time for Valentine's Day. I bought this as a gift for my husband. The packaging is beautiful and perfect for wrapping. The pen came complete including one refill. The refill looks very small. I ordered more Schmidt-Mine 635 M mini refills. It was $11 for a 10 pack here on Amazon. Some reviews mentioned that the ink does not last long with heavy use. The pen writes smoothly, and it looks like fine point even though the description says medium point. I love that the pen cap slides off and on. This makes using the pen quick and convenient. The cap sticks to the stand so you don't lose it. NOTE: The pen won't hover if you lose the little cap. There are very strong magnets on those 4 towers on the stand as you can see from my video. The pen is made from aluminum and feels lightweight, but very sleek. I love the matte navy-blue color. This is a unique gift that I think will look good on my husband's desk at work. I really like it and the price is right. I will let you know what he thinks.

I always struggle to find fun gifts for my dad. I gave him this pen for his 71 birthday and he loved it. He has it at his desk and loves showing it to the grandchildren and explaining the physics on how it floats. It has a elegant look. The reason I gave 4/5 is because I think it’s on the pricey side.

This thing is pretty cool. I got it for my boss who has everything- & he got a kick out of it. It actually writes really well too. It was a little pricey but it gave an older man a chuckle so worth it!

Pros: I like that I have a pen at-the-ready, standing up tall and ready to grip. The pen writes smoothly with no skips. The magnet feature is strong and I can feel the pull of the magnet (but more on that later). Cons: I frequently bump the pen and knock it horizontally onto the base, which defeats the whole purpose of having a standing up pen. I also find it irritating to have to remove the magnetic cap and put it on the base for safekeeping. (The tip is critically important, so don’t lose it!) Finally, when returning the pen to the base, I have to look directly at the base to vertically align the pen dead-center—once the cap has been replaced, of course—otherwise the pen isn’t going to stand up. Instead, one or two of the four base points grabs the pen and does whatever it pleases with it. Ugh! The magnet is very s t r o n g. Overall, I find the magnet feature creates more work than is worth the convenience of having a pen readily available. It might work fine on an executive-sized desk, but I have limited free space available on my home office desk.

I feel that the price point for this pen is quite high, as I'm sure many others do, and as such, I had very high expectations. I bought it because I wanted a gift that was high class, sleek and refined and flawless, and of exceptional quality. I am very happy to say that those expectations have been more than met. The cutting and polishing on the pen and base are completely perfect. Every part is perfectly smooth, balanced, and consistent. The pen stays balanced in the base perfectly (it feels satisfying to feel the base pull the pen in to position, and to let it go), the rotations and wobbles are just as smooth and mesmerizing as you'd imagine, and the pen always returns to a perfect upright still position if left alone long enough. Beyond being just a pen and holder, it adds a lot of elegance and zen to any space. It catches your eye as soon as you see it, and it is evident from first glance that it truly is designed and made well, with care and effort; there are no bells or whistles here. And when you're stressed or frustrated, flicking the pen and seeing it recenter, helps you to recenter as well. The gift box includes everything shown in the photos, and the finesse that's found in the pen and base, follow through into the box and accessories. They successfully reinforce the quality of every aspect of this product, and add to the unboxing experience. I also recommend keeping the box, because it is moulded to be an exact fit for the pen and base, allowing for them to be effortlessly taken anywhere, and for the guarantee that they won't be scratched up during transport. This product met and exceeded my expectations for a high end gift, and I am satisfied with my purchase.

Fantastic, feels like it will last forever

Bought this as a gift for my uncle. As a businessman and a tech person, he liked this very much. It's been almost two years I gave it and the pen is still floating on his desk!! Amazing product!
