I need to be able to take down the earloops while getting shampooed and hold the mask in place with my hands and then quickly re-secure the ear loops when the sink service is done. And I want NO GAPS! ***THE HACK *** Those green clips are amazing! You can detach the elastic and reconfigure the mask to work as an ear loop mask. I have tried this with other masks and it doesn't work because the position of the strap doesn't line up with your ears and the mask pops off. But this mask is different. Because those green clips branch the elastic in 2 slightly different directions, there is no issue aligning to your ears and it STAYS IN PLACE WITH A TIGHT SEAL. My husband is I bio-scientist and he helped me test the seal when using ear loop hack and there was virtually no difference in protection, seal, and coverage. I KNOW I KNOW, this is not how an 95 mask should be worn. But if you have a special circumstance or need a short-term solution for ear loops, this is the ONLY mask I could find that accommodates. Regarding all the reviews that mention a strong chemical odor, I do not experience this, even after just unwrapping. I do smell a very mild paper odor, like a sheet of notebook paper, that dissipates after about 30 seconds. I hope this review helps others!!! Review: My favorite n95 masks!!! Been using for 4 years now! - I’ve worn (and repurchased) these all throughout the pandemic and have never had an issue. I prefer these masks compared to an aura n95 because the headband straps are elastic, yet covered with a bit of fabric, and not RUBBER BANDS which to me seem very unsafe!! There’s also no metal staples holding the material together so again I feel more secure with these n95s. I love that they’re bifolds because they fit in my pocket easily too. My biggest issue in finding a reliable n95 throughout the pandemic has been finding one that’s a universal fit for me and my boyfriend so that we’re not spending tons of $$$ on multiple different brands. It also needs to be comfortable and breathable because I’m high risk for covid, so these get a LOT of use from us. Benehal fits these requirements easily- he has a large (long) nose (very hard to fit in most n95s we’ve tried, including flo masks!) with thin cheeks and I have large cheeks with a short nose which has been a nightmare finding n95s that seal properly, except for these benehals. These masks have also worked when we recommend masks to wear for all of our family members flying to visit us for long periods of time (6 hours+ door to door) and we’ve never had anyone complain that they’re uncomfortable or hard to breathe in. The material is thick and I will say if you are doing rigorous activity (hiking, going to the gym), it can be a bit harder to breathe. But for casual wear, these are great. The box of masks I received were far too small fitting only to the middle of my cheek and pulling in so tight on my nose that I couldn’t breathe well. (order size said large). The reason I rated this mask with a 4 is for two reasons: because the straps must go over the head it will not fit my husband's head or face (he is an averaged sized man) - the mask fits my face well and provides very good protection but I find the strap that goes directly across the back of my head to be uncomfortable.
