Great replacement motor that works well. No need for modifications.

30 minute change over up and running.
Motor replaced one in 13 yr old 20v Dewalt. Easy installation, start up first time. Already had purchased a new Dewalt drill but couldn't discard old one without trying once to repair it. She fired right up.

This part for my drill fit perfectly, and replacement took about 15 minutes. The drill is like new again.

Works Great, not an easy installation
Bought this motor to replace the failing one in my DeWalt 20v drill. It works fine, but understand that this is NOT a particularly simple repair, especially if you decide to clean and re-lube the transmission gears. You will need to de-solder and re-solder the leads to the motor, shrink wrap the connections. and get everything back into place. (you will need a high wattage soldering iron and solder with a strong flux) You might want to take a couple of pictures when you first separate the case halves to be sure you get the wires properly re-routed.

Perfect fit but...
Perfect fit. Seems to be of alright quality, ain't done any hard jobs with it yet. Make sure to clean and re-grease the gears while you are in there. Had to buy a soldering station to put the wires back on but it came out pretty good.

Amazingly cheap way to repair my Dewalt drill
I burned out my drill motor somehow, and this replacement motor worked just fine allowing me to repair my Dewalt for far less than buying a new one. It was kind of tricky to take apart the drill as I needed a special torx bit that is longer than usual to reach, but that was the design of the Dewalt drill, no fault of this replacement motor
