can i leave out the inner stakes on the gate out to make the opening wider? I need it to be 48 inches wide.

Hello, Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, no. The rails that compose the gate are only 36" wide. You can make the opening wider by using 2 gates to make a double gate. I apologize for the inconvenience. Best regards, Russell

what is the warranty for this product and the matching Madison panels? I don't want to risk paying all this money and it is too flimsy.

We are proud to offer a 10 year warranty on all our vinyl products. Our products are manufactured with specially formulated UV inhibitors to protect the vinyl from the sun. This means that our vinyl products won't yellow, crack or degrade in the sunlight. Because of our top of the line manufacturing process, our vinyl is extruded thick enough to withstand the general wear and tear of time. Once you invest in a Zippity Outdoor Product, you can be assured that it will not need to be replaced anytime soon.

Would this gate work with the manchester 2pack set?

It's not really designed to, but I did. The Manchester is taller so I extended the legs of the gate with some stakes I had. Was able to get it to work, but probably wouldn't recommend it.

Which way does the gate swing?

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our Madison Gate! This gate can swing any way you would like, it just depends on where to would like to place your latch and hinges on the gate wings. Kindly, Shaina
