Double-Duty Bread Box and Cutting Board - Sturdy Storage for Baked Goods. By Bold Bamboo. (Natural)

We purchased this breadbox on July 25, 2017, and upon arrival, it was very attractive and without flaws. It easily holds a 2.5 lb loaf of bread from a bread machine and keeps it soft and moist. We have had no issues with bread molding, though a loaf only lasts our family about 5 days.The cutting board does mark badly when using it to slice bread, and we had marks after the first use. It has continued to mark, even though we became much more careful after the first time we noticed damage. You can see the marks in my second picture. Of course, these marks are on the inside of the breadbox when it is closed and not visible. However, I have other bamboo cutting boards that do not score nearly as easily.As of early last week (about a month after purchase), I noticed a longitudinal split in the bamboo that goes completely through the thickness of the top. Over the course of the week, the split has gotten worse, and I believe that my lid will soon be in 2 pieces. The slit appears to be occurring over a seam where the bamboo is joined. The lid has not been submerged in water or placed in the dishwasher--only wiped clean with a damp cloth.Based upon this damage, I cannot recommend this breadbox. A quality breadbox should last years, and I am experiencing damage that will eventually render the lid unusable. Please save your money and purchase something more sturdy.

I read all reviews and was convinced that bread lasts a good amount of time in here. I put my all grain bread in the box, and after 4 days, there was massive amount of mold and moisture dripping from the lid!! I did expect the box to keep my store bought bread fresh. I did remove the plastic just like some of the pics from other reviewers. Normally when I keep this bread in fridge and keeping in in the original plastic, it lasts 3 weeks or more.so im not sure why others were raving about saving their bread here. if anyone has a suggestion please display it here and i'll look out for it. thanks

Very happy with this purchase.Before: By day 4, my bread would get moldy in a zip-lock or stale in a perforated bag.Now: I buy fresh-baked bread at Costco whenever it's still warm to the touch in the store. I cut 4-days worth of bread and place it the bread box and freeze the rest in a ziplock. When the breadbox is depleted, I cut out another 4-days worth from the frozen loaf and let it stand uncovered for about 2-3 hours, then enclose it in the bread box.I'm amazed. Fresh-baked bread that's frozen and thawed still tastes pretty much like fresh-baked bread. Which is a huge improvement to quality of life.

This bread box is wonderful. I like the feel of the bamboo container. It's a nice size - not too big to take up too much space on the counter and yet big enough to fit a round loaf of bread and more. The lid is ingenious. I love being able to just cut a slice and not dirty my big cutting board with crumbs. Seems to be keeping the bread soft and fresh for at least 3-5 days. I also like that it's eco-friendly and is made by a small company. Really well designed item. Very happy.

This is a great bread box! It has kept our bread good for up to a week and we are very pleased with the look and durability of the bread box. It's perfect for our farmhouse.

Wow! Exactly what I wanted! I have been working to get my family off of using plastic wrap and ziploc bags and I needed something for breads and rolls. I bake bread of some kind every week instead of buying store bought. You do not have to wrap baked goods to store in this box. You can cut a slice off a loaf of bread and just stick it right in the box and it will not dry out! There are no vents and the wood cutting board lid fits very snug, keeping the box airtight. I'm actually thinking of buying a second box soon. I am recommending this product to everyone I know that bakes!

I love this bread box. It has a farm house style, but also looks modern. It’s made out of bamboo fiber, but it looks almost like stoneware or ceramic from afar. I like this much better than the aluminum steel containers. And I really like that the bamboo wood lid actually fits snugly, keeping my bread fresher longer. The lid is larger than the opening itself so you don’t have to worry about it falling into the box. The size is also good. A standard store bought loaf fits fine in it.

Pleasant to look at and easy to use, the “Bold Bamboo” cutting board and container is perfect for storing and cutting my homemade sourdough bread. I looked thru many pages and websites of bread containers before I found this one on Amazon. I make a small loaf of sourdough bread about every three days and this container keeps it fresh and easily available to the last slice.
