Personally, they are nearly too "fancified" or "gussied up" for my taste. But at least they don't sport tassels. They look good: not so plain as simple penny loafers, nor too tarted-up with silly rhinestones and foxtails. Brass Boot makes quality shoes. These are handmade, as a stamp burnt onto the sole informs me. The sole, by the way, is all leather. The back half of the heel features a rubber insert. The all-leather upper looks and feels quality (I am holding one in my hands now). The construction is solid. The decorative detailing, also all-leather, appears finely crafted, as does the stitching all around. A stamp in gold ink inside informs me the lining is genuine sheepskin. Oh, and they also fit well. Although I wear an exceedingly average size 10, I've learned that in slip-on loafers I have to downgrade a size to 9.5, or they 'll slip off my heel at each step. These 9.5 shoes fit just as well as I hoped. Good-looking shoes, finely crafted, that could sell for much much more than available here. They're a steal, and they'll garner compliments.
