Absolutely a must buy, five solid stars. Although nothing makes a trailer thief proof, this item certainly helps deter even the more motivated thief to move along. This completely covers the lock (must be a shackle-style lock, not a puck lock!) and makes it difficult to defeat the lock by cutting or even picking. It is super simple to put into use. Things to consider--the unit is black so if exposed to sunlight for a little bit, it gets really warm to handle, so gloves are wise. It is heavy (thankfully) so smaller folks might struggle a little bit manhandling the unit into place. You have to have a place to put it when it is not in service. Not a problem, but something to consider as this is one more piece of gear to handle and manage. I did try this on a U-Haul trailer, and it worked well. Forge on and let's put thieves out of business!

Good product

I used this on a cargo container out on my property. It’s heavily constructed a does a good job hiding the lock so it’d be impossible to use a bolt cutter crowbar to break in. You’d need a torch and some time to get past this device. Anything can be broken into, but this device makes it very hard to do. I liked the first one I bought so much that I bought a second one for the other door. I also used the master lock recommended by the manufacturer.. it’s a little tricky to use this device, but I managed to figure it out in just a minute. I also like the the lock stays dry even if it pours rain. This means that the lock won’t freeze solid in the winter and will always open when needed. I am very happy with this product.

Adds to the security of a shipping container, especially when paired with the Magmaus locks. Really makes it extremely difficult for someone to get to lock. Of course, locks only keep honest folks out, so make sure to have a good security camera set-up.

So, this thing was absolutely perfect, but I came to the realization that our newly purchased shipping container already came with a similar type of lock box pre-installed. So, I ended up sending this back to Amazon.If the container didn't already have this lock box, this SnatchLatch would have been absolutely the way to go.I tried about 5 different locks on Amazon and none would fit/work quite right. This SnatchLatch was a perfect fit on the container handles. It even came with an extra sticker.The construction is really impressive. Heavy duty steel with a nice coating and rounded edges. Nice welds. Can't speak to the rust resistance as we didn't have a chance to use it long term but it looks like it would hold up great with the coating on it.

Has good coverage of the lock. Water resistant I would say but not totally...the bottom is open to attach lock and not fool proof for an imaginative thief to defeat...just like anything else, but I like its design to make a burglar work harder to cut or give up trying. I'v had it for a number of years.

Essential for securing job site materials. Thieves cut off a previous lock ( although the material was too heavy to move ) but with this awesome device they cannot get to the inside lock to cut it off.

We used this on our seacan that we purchased to move our belongings across the country. We felt so much more comfortable knowing the snatch latch was on there… nobody is getting through that! We will continue to use it on our barn in the future. Highly recommend!

Honestly it was easy to install however. I used a lock that was relatively strong that could fit underneath it and it was broken into the night of. In a downtown setting with apartments right next to it. Not sure how they did it but just make sure your actual lock is tough as well.
