Are there preservatives in this syrup?

Hello Rozlyn, Here is what it says on the bottle..."Premium Cultivar Elderberries, Kosher Certified , Gluten-Free, No Artificial Preservatives." The "other ingredients" on the other side say. . ."Fructose. Purified water, Vegetable-source glycerine, Natural Raspberry Flavor, Ascorbic acid, Citric acid" My suspicion is that the various fruit based acids are all the preservatives that are needed. I hope that information helps. Here is to your health!

Does this taste good?

My 3 year old loves it! It is very sweet & tastes good on yogurt or even mixed into milk, I do give it to him straight as well. It definitely has helped with colds & keeping him healthy I highly recommend!

Are the berries cooked or pasteurized? Raw elderberries are toxic.

Every elderberry used in making our products is 100% handpicked and harvested at just the right time. The berries are carefully inspected for quality and frozen on the very same day to preserve them at their peak. We do not use unripe berries. Additionally, each lot of Nature’s Way elderberry extract is tested for harmful levels of cyanide.

Why is taking this product better than just drinking condensed black elderberry juice, which you can also get on here?

The syrup adds fructose and other flavors to make it palatable. Elderberries are bitter tasting. We accidently bought juice instead of syrup and had to mix in in yogurt or something sweet to help with the taste. I hope that helps.
